Tarkan’s Apache Raid Display Germany, my friend Detlef Heerbrand shared the following photos with me. They show a display of his friend Tarkan of Tak Toys, which was showcased at the recent German Plastic Show. It is an Apache raid on a U.S. Cavalry column. Also, almost every figure is unique.
Tarkan’s Apache Raid Display The Photos

I like this wagon with its prisoner.

Another wagon with conversions using Timpo parts.
The cavalry is setting up a defensive line. The laying firing cavalry is inspired by the unreleased Timpo laying firing figure.
Apache chief directing the battle from on high.

Tak has so much detail in his display. I would love to know how long it took him to make it.

Here we have a scout fight an apace. Both figures are on horseback.
An Apache has jumped a mounted cavalry soldier.

An overview of the cavalry defense position with Apaches attacking from the ground and firing from the rocka.
An overview of the Apaches mounting a charge on the cavalry position.
The Apache are attacking the covered wagons.

A closer look at the attack on the wagons.

I wonder how many figures Takran has in the display?

I would like to thank Detlef for allowing me to share these photos. Tell me what you think.
Checking in

Since I have some space left in this post, I thought I would let you know how I am doing. Right now, I am doing fine. With the weather getting warmer, I have gotten out to various flea markets. At one of the flea markets, I picked up the above Marx P51. When I bought it, the propeller was only two blades. The seller noted it, but I still bought it. Putting it to the side when I got home, I figured I would put it up on Ebay with the propeller as it is. Imagine, to my surprise, that I found a correct propeller in a bag.

Ah I think it’s a P-51 Mustang.
Thanks Brian for the correction.
No problemo.Keep em flying.
Wow! So many great conversions ! Yet, many figures that hold so much nostalgia for those of us American “kids” from the 50’s-60’s. When we set up our figures on the living room rug, this diorama is what we pictured in our young minds. Big shout out to Tarkan of Tak Toys…! MOre photos, please. Gary in Texas
I’ve got a bunch of the Timpo cavalry figures which are unfortunately very brittle and many are broken up in pieces. I wonder if Tarkan could use the parts for converting.
I tried gluing some back together with super glue but they just broke again in different places.
Hardly any parts from Timpo are used. They are from his own production, Tak Toys. The parts are recast in a flexible plastic and are virtually unbreakable. Tarkan puts a lot of love and ambition into his projects, and I think it took him years to get all the figures together. I own figures from his series myself, and they are really good.
Interesting that you bring up timpo swoppets I just asked bmc toys to aquire the molds to make my favorite: timpo Romans. They turned it down but I’m hoping someone will reissue these figures. Someday….
Henry,
The molds are own by a person in the UK. He has no plans at the moment to run them.
Hi All. Great dio! I intend on making an Apache/Cavalry dio someday…..got 3 scheduled dios before I do. Anyway, happily I have all the Apache 1/32 figures available right now. None of the ones in photos however! I see they scale well with a few horses I recognize, so size is ok. All Timpo Apaches? Possible to purchase in USA.? I don’t intend to buy from Europe as I once did, until the policy reverses. There’s only 1 other great Apache pose I haven’t acquired yet. The metal Apache on rearing horse, holding Winchester rifle defiantly over his head. Great pose. Waiting til fair-trade returns.
I know that Tak-Toys also ships to collectors in the USA. Unfortunately, the figures are only available through Germany.
