August 2025 Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show, this is the second of two shows held each year. People will say this is the weaker of the two shows with less dealers and customers. While they are correct, you would be foolish not attend as this show is good as the spring show.
August 2025 Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show, My Report

I got to the show an half hour before it opened, paid my admission, and found a seat. They let in the small crowd early. I went first to Tom Stine. In a previous meeting, Tom said he had some Conte Collectibles. I asked Tom if he still had them. He said no. I then spotted he had MPC Russians, which I picked up.

I headed down a row and saw a plehora of Marx tin litho. They were part of the late John Boyo’s collection, which his son was selling. He was selling Marx playsets and parts.

What interested me among the tin litho was a clear plastic box. In the box were Susy Goose Grocery Playset figures. I ended up buying the box which had other interesting figures. I also got two more Marx Freight Terminal trucks and a Zorro Commandante figure. The last one I had spotted mixed in with Marx Alamo figures and told him its value. He sold it to me for half the value.

At another figure I picked up was this damaged Lone Ranger. I found him in a junk box and told the dealer . He said check the figure, I did realized he was missing a right foot as I was holding him at the right foot. I still picked up.
Marx Civil War Display Board

One of the interesting items that Rick Eber had for sale was this Civil War Playset. Rick told me that Rick Koch had given him an original Marx Civil WarPlayset board. Rick got a Marx Civil War playset and took both them to George Kroll. George is Mister Display board as he has the largest collection of Marx display boards. George put the pieces where would have been.
Old Friend and New Friend

One of the my enjoyments is meeting and seeing old friends. One of those old friends was Gary Dutko who lives in the Gettysburg arrea. Gary used to do fantastic Conte Collectibles conversions, but had to stop due to health issues.

Besides seeing old friends, I got to meet one of my readers Todd. Todd got hooked into the hobby by his older brother. He was looking for Britains herald knights. I always meeting my readers.
Warhorse Miniatures

One person who was doing very well was Warhorse Miniatures. As you see they did not have much left to sell by the end of the show.

I sat with Mike and Carolyn and they told me they had bought a place near State College.

A party brought over a display to show that they had used some of this Warhorse pieces for this display.
After a few hours, I left the show having a great time as always and will be back for the spring show next year.
Hi Paul. It was nice seeing you, I wish I had more time to talk. Jim Poe had created that diorama with some of the Warhorse Miniatures. We actually did better at this show than the first show. Even though the second show had about half as many attendees. I picked up some Marx trees and the marching guardsmen from John Boyko
Hi Paul,
Hope you are do.ng well. I want to contact Gary Dutko. Could you please give him my email
Thanks
