Stad on You Tube Paul Knapp’s Man Cave

Stad on You Tube Paul Knapp’s Man Cave, I had the pleasure on being on Paul Knapp’s Man Cave. This is a fine show that Paul is doing interviewing various people in our hobby. In past, he has interviewed Jeff Imel of BMC Toys and Rusty Kern of Playset Magazine. So on June 17th, it was my turn.

As I said in my introduction, I did my first podcast, with Paul Knapp and his associates. For nearly an hour and a half we covered a wide range of topics including the Marx landfill. I showed a few figures including the rare master of the Marx Anthony Eden figure. Paul called me the Godfather of the hobby, which I waved that title off. I will take legend instead.

I told them about some of my finds, at the recent Plastic Warrior Show, including six 54mm sailors. One question I was asked on the show that I could answered what was the best item you found in junk box. I could not think one accept a recent purchase of a ESCI Modern U.S. Infantry for a dollar. Since then I remember one better. I had taken my mother for a ride and we found a little flea market across from a farmers market we would go to. I went through the tables not seeing anything until I spotted a Sky King Songbird. I had never had gotten one as a child and happy to get one. Suddenly, I spotted another one, then a third. I was able to get four Songbirds.

It was a lot of fun and I will do another one in the future. I would like to thank Paul and friends for a fun time. So here is the link to the show.

I will have part two of the PW Show shortly.

Enjoyed seeing you on Paul Knapp’s show. You had a lot of good stories to tell and I am sure you have many more. It was cool seeing the “Armored Car on fire” that you have. I would love to see some toy soldier maker make a series of knocked out/battle damaged tanks, halftracks, trucks, ect. that one could litter a battlefield setup with. Could you share some pictures of your “Armored Car on fire” on the site here? Thanks for your great website. Take care. Bobby moore

Yes, everybody, please click on the link. Paul demonstrates infinate patience. I don’t want to make enemies, but I felt like the “panel” and host seemed ill-prepared to ask any relevent questions. I hope Stad will do an encore performance and can maybe be “prepped” by Paul K beforehand on varous topics that migh be covered.
I watched the show with Craig Remington. He was prepared and personable. He “just happend to have” some vintage boxes and figures–all conveniently within reach for the crazy cam. He even took the cam off the mount and gave us a tour of his store.
I’m betting Stad has some pretty rare and amazing plastic (European, too) that he could show. Maybe we can get a show with the savant, Erwin Sell, or the bulldog hunter, Rick Eber.
Just my two cents; And I spent it.

I’m glad Christian Aldo showed up because he kept things going when they started to lag. Great to see Paul and the rest of the panel and I look forward to Part 2!
