Road 25,000 Comments Other Things

Road 25,000 Comments Other Things we have pass 24,000 and working on heading to 25,000 comments. We may do it this year or next. Also I have some other news including a company doing 3D figures.

Road 25,000 Comments Other Things Comment Time

Since starting to use Word Press, I have been able to let you the readers directly comment on the postings. Prior to that, I would have to copy an interesting reply. So for about 8 years, we have comments starting with one from Don Perkins. It has been interest to see how passionate some people get on a subject. At times I have had to end the discussion. It has also let many new friendships and great information.

I watch over this site constantly. Most of the spam is caught by Askimet, which right now is up to 184,000 plus pieces of spam. Some items do get through which require my personal attention. Just recently I had to delete two comments for derogatory and foul language. Sadly if the person had not used the foul language, I would have been happy to respond to his comments.

I have done some minor work on Stad’s Stuff behind the scenes. One is I have added Grammarly. Grammarly is helping on my grammar and my spelling. I am glad for it as I have various learning issues which were not caught in school.

One spot that needs work is the home. Once Word Press came up with Gutenberg it has caused problems trying to do changes on the home page. I have been trying to figure out what changes I will make. One will be that the home page will not allow comments. I don’t know when I will get the changes done as other jobs are fighting for my time.

Road 25,000 Comments Other

Going through the collection I found another Jescan caveman. We have a little display with various cave people and Mammoths. The main piece a large mammoth got in Germany.

Jescan or Reamsa made a lovely series of ancient Egyptians. These figures will work well with the Atlantic and Supreme figures. I don’t know if they were reissue.

Road 25,000 Comments Other Speira Miniatures

Finally, we have news on a company called Speira Miniatures. This European company is doing 3D castings of their figure from 1/72 scale to 60mm. They have American Civil War medieval, and ancient. Check them out.

Jecsan did both Egyptian 16 poses and primitive 7 poses set. The figures with paint in that condition paint are awesome and lucky to have.
The 7 poses made by Jecsan of primitive men were done in two scale. First in 65 mm, then in 30 mm painted and not painted sold in bags to match better the animals made for it as the 65 mm scale were too large human for the animals in set.
Unpainted 30 mm scale figures are still around from last run sold in bags and exported to south America, Australia else according to Spaniards blogs and two jecsan books as cheap give way toys too.
They are far more common than the 65 mm original made and painted. There is even large stock in fiesta color off Mexico now.
The 30 mm scale unpainted last edition issues come with mold defect as run poorly without much maintenance mold and some think were crude copies made of Jecsan, but they are not.
The 30 mm mold was operantly sold off to a minor toy maker according to books

The original Jecsan primitive, primitive mammals and dinosaurs PLAYSET are highly priced. Entire well conserved playset can go up for several thousand.
This playset was incredible sold first in cases-large box with a completely wrong spelling in Spanish title (Antidilivianos) instead of Antidiluvianos -mean literally in English ” Before the Flood” or deluge. Referring to biblical or ancient Deluge. This has been a mystery by Jecsan collectors and book historians about Spanish toy brands as to why the error.
The playset was base in film One million years B.C
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Million_Years_B.C.
    Filmed in Spain-Canary Islands
The Jecsan primitive man set 65 mm was not recast-reissue import to US but the mold was offer for recast and was available at exact same time as others.
I got a sample from mold owner (Puchol industrias) in 1996 with one each pose when trying do business with Jecsan and then move to Comansi. Because thematic(primitive-prehistic) would or may be of poor interest x most toy soldiers’ collectors it could be reason not reissued. Other Molds Jecsan such both sea-divers set, zoo-animal, circus, spaceman and civilian plus bull fighters were available.
The line that was not available as molds were split among two owners by 1979 was the large Jecsan western entire line along with WW2 sets- Japanese and marines as well very curious set of prisoners bases in films. This line mold falls in hand of another mysterious owner till today
Still molds from Jecsan ownership are split among same two.
Those reissues and import to Europe and US could be run again from PUCHOL INDUSTRIAS that will not do so unless large amount per set.

Other molds set never recast since 1982 from another owner cannot be reissue; so far.

I agree their ancient sets are very well done and among largest in action poses made in history of plastic figures with good match in scale with Atlantic and cherilea as well Marx 65 mm figures. Also, the scale and poses match with new nice well-done production 1/30 scale approx. of LOD, TSSD, Conte and Supreme ancient sets too
Jecsan set Egyptians and romans were made base in Anthony and Cleopatra film, while REAMSA roman set was base in Ben Hur film specifically.
Most Jecsan set were base in film that were filmed or partially filmed in Spain and others not film at all in Spain but were seen with a lot success in Europe.

Jecsan sets made and base in films made or partially produced in Spain follow.

The circus set- was entirely base in the film Circus World with John Wayne most done in Barcelona Spain and motivated by The Greatest Show on Earth but not filmed in Spain
Set- El Cid (Spaniards crusades and Saracens), base in film of same name film in Spain. (Reamsa made a set as well x it because thematic of such national Spaniard Hero. In this case both companies have the title legal rights
Antidiluvianos-antidilivianos-primite man set. Base in film (One Million Years B.C) filmed in Canary island -Spain
Set Cleopatra/romans base in film (Antony and Cleopatra) filmed in Spain.
Napoleonic set (Jecsan set was loose base in Agustina Aragon Spaniard not Hollywood film) but because Reamsa and PH had both done sets with same name they did not cover the main characters poses to avoid legal battles with both companies

Sets base in film not realized in Spain.

    Viking set (The Viking film)
Prisoner set (one of the rarest and wanted set among European collectors)
It is base solely pose by pose in all charters of the film (The Bridge on the River Kwai)
Huns and Mongol sets. Base in gold horde comics as well film of thematic.
Marines and Japanese WW2 set. Base in many films included primarily (sand of Iwo Jima) but coinciding with releasing of RED BEACH film as well.
Both sets, Marines and Japanese were sold as blue helmet forces series set to face each other for the war conflict in Angola and el Congo were Spain and Portugal were involved.

Most of the large Jecsan western set are base in western films.
While the sets base in movies made in part in Spain were sold with name base in movies translated in Spanish the others were sold with alike or different titles.
Jecsan did a set of XVIII century armies in 3 different uniforms. Some think was intended to be use x American revolution wars playsets that were not finished-produced. Partial mold reissues poses were sold in to “be paint kits packs by Puchol”. (Actual owner of many Jecsan molds)
The sets may had come when company was about to be close and never continue. The figures are quite interesting as they had plug in Tricon three different hats that was a more complicated mold production too.
Each army set was to have 12 poses each with a new cannon.
I have samples of each pose of two armies and will show soon.
There still a research about these last sets and what happen to then…..

          • ERWIN F SELL says:

John here are two sale links of only the main 12 poses prisoners set poses.
Jecsan did total 36 poses x these playsets with either a bridge in scale section or a small prisoner’s compound. All in wood material made by Artesanias S.A who also manufactured for Comansi and Reamsa many wood buildings.
There 4 well known playset version using same poses just with different building and accessories. Also, the 12 poses prisoners’ main poses were sold in separated cases as those small set link sample will show.
Typical Spaniard brand mold made of bronze it was redone in several times as wasted when used too often because that the poses may varied a bit from years to years production after mold retouch, redone or else.
Once I get mine (all 36 poses) out with do close photo next to other figures every pose.
I have the partial big bridge not the compound
Rest main poses were 12 Japanese and 12 poses US marines (both these sets were made previews by Jecsan as intended series x WW2 and use for the prisoners set large playset version The Americans were sold as part of liberator set (not quite in accord with film).
There few more poses only announced and not mass produced under Jecsan apparently that were put out production for some odd reason. Those never released with playset prisoners and Japanese poses were recast till years later in limited edition under PUCHOL-actual owner of many Jecsan molds according to another blog
I had seen only three rare poses of those.
Here is the basic smaller version set prisoners set base in film sold under Jecsan in sample sale link.
The set is original in original box with mid production figures issued.
The scale is 56/59 mm approx. from base to top head if not in the old base first edition that made then taller.
            https://www.todocoleccion.net/figuras-goma-pvc/jecsan-caja-prisioneros~x120335443.

If search in same site will see many of original poses sale loose single with better close photos.
            Another link partial sample.
Here you can see another sale link that has a mix set using a reproduced not original box.
The figures the set in this box are mix with some Japanese poses and prisoners and looks like very late production. I have doubt about the veracity of these set.

A full 36 figures playset and building are extremely hard finding complete and very expensive.

Thanks for all of the time and work you’ve devoted to our hobby for so many years, Paul.
    It is much appreciated!
I used to receive and enjoy your printed “Comment Times” years ago, and now I look forward to visiting your website every day! My brother and I met you and Laurie at the OTSN show in the mid nineties, not long after Cindy passed away.
Thanks again, take care and keep up the great work!
P.S. Give each of the “boys” a pat on the head from me!

    • admin says:

Thank you for your kind words. I will not let them go to my head. Our little guys are doing great. with the weather getting nicer I will try to get some new photos of them. OTSN has not been in our budget for years. It is many cheaper to fly to Europe as it is to go to Chicago.
