September 2026 New Playsets: LOD Enterprises, Austin Miniatures

LOD Enterprises will have a Bunker Hill Playset for sale at the Chicago Show. Here is what they say about the playset.
The Bunker Hill Playset brings the pivotal American Revolution battle to life. This detailed playset captures the intensity of June 17, 1775, when Colonial forces made their stand on Breed’s Hill in Charlestown, Massachusetts, against the fearsome British Empire.
Featuring resin figures from both the Colonial and British forces, a foam redoubt, cannons, and accessories that help recreate this historic battle. Perfect for history enthusiasts and collectors who want to display one of the Revolutionary War’s most significant moments.
Details
The foam redoubt is a new piece measuring 25″ (l) by 12.5″ (w) by 3″ (h).
There are sixty-four (64) British troops in nine assorted poses opposed by forty (40) continental troops in eight assorted poses.
There are three (3) NEW character figures in the set: William Prescott, Joseph Warren, and William Howe.
Also included are two (2) cannons and sixteen (16) accessory pieces from the Barzso Collection. The cannons are in six total pieces (minor assembly required).
The Playset includes a total of 135 resin pieces plus a 6″ plastic British Officer.
All of the contents come in a beautifully designed playset box measuring 29″ by 17″ by 6.5″. The Playset is $350 plus shipping/handling and available at www.lodtoysoldiers.com.
LOD Enterprises is honored to introduce a new playset to the hobby with a topic that helps commemorate the country’s 250th anniversary

Austin Miniatures will have a WWII Pacific Theater Playset.

Here is what they say about their playset. The Austin Miniatures Pacific Theatre Playset is jam-packed with a total of 40 toy soldiers and a foam terrain piece to live out all your favorite battles.

Austin has also done a foam farmhouse compound. The farmhouse compound is $600.00, and the Pacific Playset is $300.00. If you want any of these items, you might want to preorder as there is a limited number.
Target Game

One of the items I got at the Gettysburg show was half of a German Soldier. Erwin identified it as a piece from Target Game. Judicaël Btx le Gaulois was kind enough to send a photo of the game. As you can see, it was a rack toy. The game came with three different figures plus a pistol with three darts. The set here was made in Macau, while Erwin remembers his set was made in Hong Kong.
I just found out that I will be receiving new VictoryBuy War in the Pacific and Bunker playsets shipped directly to the hotel for theToy Soldier Show. Also some m new bagged figure sets.
RE:Bunker Hill, what is the point of the Giant figure?I guess one could paint it and put it on a bookshelf in one’s Man Cave other wise would look kind of silly in a set up unless one of Goliath’s descendants served in the British Army!
In regards to the officer, they are probably trying to get rid of stock. On the bright side LOD Medieval Archers (Castle defenders/attackers) are great figures. The detail really can be seen in person that might not show well in online photos. Great figures and really needed poses for Medieval warfare.
The Bunker Hill playset does look good. The American character figures look best.
The LOD play set is very large and a good effort on their part. The non- firing guns may be an afterthought since there are no artillery figures included. With the old Marx play sets you could actually fire objects at the opposite army to knock the figures down –
something called “play value”.
The large number of figures included does increase the play value a bit but the repetition of so many like poses is problematic. Probably too many dead guys.
There were a LOT of dead Brits on that hill before it was over.
The trees pictured on the Pacific Theater box art don’t look like coconut palms.
I wonder if the trees shown on the box art are included in the playset.
Also spotted something odd with the Bunker Hill cannons –
The cupping of the spoked wheels appears to turn into the cannon instead of outward. This makes the wheel base appear very narrow, which is what looks odd. I think the cannons shown in the photo were assembled incorrectly.
Clearly, the wheels in the cannon are incorrectly configured and seem to be assembled in reverse.
The plant in the Pacific playset is similar to the Chusan palm or the Fiji fan palm species and their variations, which are typical in the South Pacific regions and certain parts of the Japanese islands. Many manufacturers in China have recently produced plastic versions of this plant, available in various sizes on platforms such as Amazon, Temu, and eBay, including 1/32 scale or larger.
I debated about posting…
I didn’t want to be “that curmudgeonly guy”…I love toys soldiers…sometimes sloppy; sometimes gloppy…we all do. These days, I openly and wholeheartedly applaud any indie company that has the courage and asperation to conceptualize a toy soldier playset, design figures, reasearch uniformas and militaria, negotiate contracts with mold-makers or 3-D resin printer companies… find box artwork and box folding experts… it’s a lotta work! Remember, *I* said it first! (Riiiight, lol).
So, along comes LOD’s AWI offering.
I applaud LOD’s founder for his magnificent sets. What a great member of the hobby. So many great eras to model. His taking on of the Barzo molds is pure genius. And we all say, thank you!
Anyhow, that may be a long way to go to say, that I’m somewhat and slightly underwhelmed by the new America’s 250th Bunker Hill Set…
Great idea, yes! BUT…presentation… ???
Too many repetitive poses…odd that the British causualties died in the exact same pose…The Americans at least have some variety of casulaties. Also, some kinda big giant pirate guy included? ( nice sculpt, though!).
Nice cannons– but, who’s manning the guns?
Bunker Hill redoubt piece: just S0-So, and very limiting. Most modellers could make their own. Maybe the redoubt should be two or three different foam pieces that could be combined for different angles/ effect.
If intended for the collector market, perhaps a pamphlet (ALA Patrick Henry) should be included.
Box art is OK. Could be more dramatic.
But to end on an upbeat note, the three character figures are great! Well-sculpted!
Dat’s my two cents–and I spent it! :). Stad’s site is still the pioneer-spirit on-line site. No facebook for me, thankya. Gary “Gray” DiBello inTejas…
Great post comment, Gary! I agree with most of it…
I love the Target game.
I am doing some conversions to be cannon crews.
