Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two June 2017

Plastic Figure Showcase Part Two June 2017  we show some items from Markus Lecksheid.  I will finished up with some other figures I have photographed from the collection.  As I was telling Markus these figures were acquired over the years.  At shows I buy the foreign figures other people would pass on.  On our foreign trips I would see out odd figures.  So enjoy this article.

The figure on the left is Kinder Egg samurai. The figure was done in 1985. There are four different figures. (Source Kinder Catalog) The figure on the left I believe is from Comansi. I kept him as a character stories I use to do.

The figure on the left is  native bearer.  Once again  I have no idea who made it.  The pirate on the right should be one of the comic pirates. They were cereal giveways and sold here by Rubenstein.

Finally we have two space figures. The figure on the left is a Spaceman.  The alien on the right in the link Andy sent us.

    Great !!
Those are the French, today I dig out mine and not kneeling pose but another pose with rifle on waist is also in set ,not included in picture above.
So I’m wonder if kneeling painted posted before is the number 7 then…
the colonial/western painted is indeed COMANSI only sold with houses attached to pin in front porch of house. It belong to the 65 mm PVC painted series made in 90s ,not longer made. They did another series in 2006 now still in sale in more action poses same style full painted from factory.
The native is belong to a safari/jungle play set with many poses I thing by DFC-HK.
I have full set and I think figures have mark in foot .Some explorer poses are made too.
The native looks a mix of African and Polynesian figures to me .They run from 52-54 mm approx. Mine are blue brown and yellow.
I had never see the pirate ,interesting
    best…

I like the Samauri. The one Bersaglieri looks like a golfer. The rest of them are just uninspiring.

    We all thought that this
45mm range of Kinder figures were Samurai but they are actually Ancient Chinese.

    • admin says:

The Kinder Egg catalog states them as Samurai on page 791 that is why they are listed as such.

      • erwin says:

I saw it in the Kinder .Markus had ask me before and yes they are not “typical Samurai”.Wile two may looks Chinese, one looks typical Korean XV century soldier ,other a mix. Probably RES artist made a mix .
Now as I explain to Markus before .They are at close look non typical SAMURAI from XV-XIX centuries in armor and weapons .However ancient Japan before XV centuries had a lot more resemblance to Chinese too and could had been base in those if look well deep in old Japanese painting of warrior-non samurai era of Heian period.
        Best..

The Samurai/Ancient Chinese is a nice figure. I like the construction.

It gave me an idea for ranges of figures made in a modular way. I’d take it further than just torsos and legs, though. Each figure could also have a separate plug-in head and arms configured to look good on each torso regardless of position. The shoulder would be designed so the attachment area would fit an arm in any position. I don’t think I would go as far as separate weapons. That’s a bit too fiddly and they tend to get lost.

With the core figures, you could then have the possibility of hundreds of variations. It would kind of be like Timpo or Swoppets but made in monochrome plastic which could be painted by the owners.

            Yes i agree.
They match perfect in scale w the last TAKARA TOMMY And old ones two sets made in the same configuration mold to change poses . The RES solid colors I mean.
The Res Kinder sold swappet samurai are a bit taller but ok match too.
            Best

With respect please. The RES,not Kinder -Ferreo.
(KINDER) did not made toys they hire two main makers to do then ,RES one of then ,they also sold GIO-PI figures such series of 4 western characters, from Italian comic strip with Tex Willer, Kit Willer, Kit Karson. Tiger Jak
One of then recently posted here .
The swappet line is the one that has 4 samuari poses armed with different 4 weapons very alike the crossbowmens.Res also did most their Swappet line.
    best…

The Cane figures look particularly interesting to me – if they’re around the 54mm range. I wonder how available they are?

    • Erwin says:

      Wayne.
Most Cane are 62/65mm to 70mm from base to top .
I have all then. The only in bit smaller are the alpini and early Us cavalry set posted before.
The Marx copies sets are more common from Italy.
      Also under BARABELLI.
The viking, pirates, musketters, romans and turks were intruduce here by Stads in early 90s from last reissues if I’m not mistaken.
Not all CANE sets were reissued.
The alpini I resold two dozen mint packs I import in 2014.
Bersaleri are the hardests w early viking copies of Elastolin poses.
      Best…
