Pink Army Women and Happy New Year

Our very good friend Erwin Sell found these figures.  They are made by Takara-Tomy. They are made for the Gashapon machines. These vending machines are quite popular in Japan. From the machines you can get various figures  from Cartoons and movies.  The figures are quite detail and of high quality material. Over the years I have gotten some of their Super heroes and historical figures.

There are two other figure set in this series. The first is Fat Cute Soldiers.

Pink Army Women and Happy New Year

Then they did Funy Animal Army Figures

The Gashapon figures can be sold in Blind boxes as well as vending machines. The full title of Pink Army Women is Pink Army Women Sexy Military Series.  There are eight figures in the series only seven are shown.  Each figure has a name.

  1. Jennifer Soldier saluting
  2. Amanada Soldier kneeling firing bazooka
  3. Scarlett Soldier radio operator bending forward
  4. Christina Soldier laying firing rifle
  5. Anne  Soldier sitting with rifle up
  6. Jessica Soldier kneeling firing rifle
  7. Emily Soldier crawling with binoculars in right hand.

The eighth figure is a chase figure which means it will be hard to find. This figure is listed as secret. The pose is a soldier running with a bunch of shopping bags!

The figures looked to be 54mm once we see them we can get a better idea.  The set is so wrong, but I will have to get them like I got the Cute Fat Soldiers.

Pink Army Women and Happy New Year New Years Greeting

On behalf of Laurie and myself we wish everyone a happy and joyous new year. This year has been rough for so many people. For the next few days I will not be blogging.  I will be observing the site. One project upcoming is my post on the year in review.

We will take it easy.  We will go out for an early meal on New Years Eve and then visit with neighbors before coming home to watch the ball drop. On January first we will have a traditional dinner of pork, potatoes and sauerkraut.  Most people in my area will eat ony pork on the first. It is because a pig roots forward. A chicken scratches back. It is considered good luck. It is a Pennsylvania Dutch Tradition.

Update 12/31/16

We have been informed that there is a video on the  Pink Army Women on Youtube. We checked it out sure enough there is so if this link does not work go to You Tube. The figures are 60mm not 54mm .

Allow me to second the best wishes for all here for the coming New Year.
I’m looking forward to lots of new plastic, plenty of conversions and later this year some great flea market finds.
This is a good group here. Lots of experience and knowledge, combined with a friendly atmosphere and a willingness to share.

I belong to a number of forms, but I choose to post here because of the people who belong to this group. Happy New Year, everyone.

Happy New Year, Paul and everybody here! Looking for a prosperous new year in 2017.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/Wild-Republic-Nature-Tube-of-Pirate-Figurines-with-Playmat-/172431752235?hash=item2825bbbc2b:g:reMAAOSw4GVYQz6~

I haven’t seen any posts about these tubes. Looking at the ruler, the pirates appear to be about three inches tall. If anyone knows about them, I’m sure Erwin does. I didn’t find any other figures but plenty of animals. I guess they are a competitor to Safari.

As for Safari, I used the Michael’s 50% discount to pick up a Jamestown Safari tube before Christmas. I was actually looking for the Safari Giant Squid, but there were none in the store. I wanted to see how big the squid looked before purchasing one off ebay and hoping they might have it in stock. I can’t have all these Playmobil ships without Kracken attacks!

Right now an Animal Planet Chap Meigiant squid is harassing some sailors (miscellaneous pirates,) but he needs some help. I suppose he could sink a ship, but he couldn’t tear one into pieces! I picked him up used but in great condition of ebay. The Animal planet sets are pricey for just acquiring a squid!

May all your New Years be better than the poor swabs who are about to become snacks!

I’ve been a fan of the giant squid since seeing Disney’s 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea in a return to the big screen as a boy.

    • Jon Burk says:

I suspect Chap Mei Kracken squid could do major damage to an MPC Pirate ship. I’d love to have a squid 4 times his length putting him in the 40 foot plus range (body is 5 inches long!)

The Chap Mei has a good action pose. I’m not that impressed with the GI Joe squid and the Safari squid looks like he’ll be too lethargic. The only ones I have found larger are the stuffed animals.

Also I don’t like the Clash of the Titans Kracken; I prefer the giant squid version. A huge octopus would be nice, but they seem even smaller.

    • Erwin says:

John.they are big=tall. Almost as the Pecos pirates.
They come out in 2013 .
I got then because poses and I just to collect Papo and all those big scale line. But since 2014 I’m getting then away.
No long ago I did pictures and sent. Will see if still around and send to u later…
      HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!!!!:-):-)
      Best….

      • Jon Burk says:

Thanks, Erwin; they will be taller than I wanted. I tried search on this site, but didn’t see them. The Papo and the big scale lines are really nice looking figures but just too big compared to my other guys and I don’t want to get started in another scale.

Still, I want to check out the items at Hobby Lobby and pick something up; thanks also Jack for info!

    • Jack Gibbons says:

      John,
The Pirate toob is at Hobby Lobby. Print out a 40% off coupon and you can pick up a set at around $6.

Stad, I never knew the origin of pork eaten at the New Year. My wife’s family is from (New) Lancaster, Ohio. We have always eaten that meal on New Year’s Day. Maybe they brought the tradition from the Peensylvania Dutch in Lancaster, PA.

      • Jon Burk says:

Thanks, I haven’t been in Hobby Lobby; but I’ll take a look. Have been by there twice before Christmas and they closed before I got there; just too early. I l like the coupon deal!

        • Jon Burk says:

The figures for the tube at Hobby Lobby were very nice but about 3″ tall; too big. There was another Wild Republic Tube of Astronauts; around 54mm size; all others were animals in tubes. I ended up getting a BMC Rev War set. Had a 50% off coupon and got Rev War Britsh Safari tube.

No pirates in Safari toobs, and they didn’t have the giant squid I was looking for. Still not bad too get those sets for $6-7 after taxes.

Unfotunately, the West Coaster Toy Soldier show was 2 months early this year; on Sunday January 8th. I picked up my Playset Magazine and saw the ads! Darn, I was looking forward to it in March! They moved over near Disneyland and had to take an early date at the new hotel. The Newport Marriot apparently wasn’t agreeing to a deal after many years. So no big toy soldier show in my area for me!

  3. Jon Burk says:

Oh, and the Pink Army Women look like a fun concept!

  4. ed borris says:

I’d like to get the fat guys.

  5. Erwin says:

    I like all three set.
Ed they are in ebay.Minus the girls that just come out.
Look under Takara Tommy brand with same name in photo pack

  6. erwin says:

And the woman are 60 mm, the fat soldiers standing same .
wile the kneeling and animal poses stand about 40/45 mm approx.
They are generally distributed by PANDA’S NO ANA machines in Japan,Korea,China, Taiwan and few others Asian countries.
Also at sweet/grocery stores and toys stores too.
    best…

  7. ed borris says:

Cool, I see this year is going to start out great, I just lost my e-mail until I go to work on Tuesday. Remote connections are so much fun.

  8. Darren Hatley says:

Interesting and Different figures. Especially the pink women soldiers, You dont see many female figures in the toy soldier industry.
A Happy New Year to everyone on this Excellent site, And i look forward to seeing what the new year has in store for upcoming toy soldiers, Some Great figures I Hope, Especially Ancient, Medieval and Fantasy figures which are my preference.

  9. Tom Black says:

Gotta love those heels! Anyone planning a conversion with the woman soldiers and the Louis Marx recast woman in her birthday suit?🤓

  10. Wayne W says:

The pink lady soldiers are a hoot. Don’t know if I’ll get them, just the thought is entertaining enough.

On the Toob pirates; I bought about every pirate pose I could find to outfit a decent crew for my Barzso ship my wife got for me last Christmas. The Toobs are nicely done but too large for my uses – as Erwin has already stated; but if you collect the larger scales – they would be nice additions. I gave mine to my grandkids as a Christmas stocking stuffer as I’d only opened them to examine them.

    • Jon Burk says:

Wayne, you are a lucky guy with a wonderful wife! Getting the Barzso ship last year for Christmas would have been a great gift! Maybe the grand kids will become toy soldier collectors! Start them young!

      • Wayne W says:

I am blessed indeed with a true keeper. In the past she has tried to get me the latest Barzso playset each year – last year there were no new ones so… This year I found some great foam adobe buildings and two bags of Mars GIs under the tree – great stuff. The buildings will make a great addition to either my Alamo or San Antonio.

        • Wayne W says:

Oh yes, it is my hope to get at least some of my grandkids hooked on toy soldiers – gotta have someone to leave the fifty-five years of hording to.

  11. ed borris says:

I get a kick out of the fat guys, the ladies some of them have poses they look like fashion models.

  12. r smith says:

Lots of very expensive female figures out there so its a winner,,,Unfortunatly the fat soldiers are all too true these days,,many are being put out of the military ,,unable to pass basic PT,,,One fat guy in my BT company,,not allowed to eat unguarded and motivated by the platoon,,

  13. Darren Hatley says:

Ive never seen these figures before, Nice figures but some weird poses. Most of them look as if they have been struck down with something and are about to collapse on the floor, And some poses are a bit boring, But interesting. What scale are these figures?

    • Darren Hatley says:

Sorry when i say weird what i really mean is unusual, There are not that many figures in dying poses that i know of anyway, So they are different and interesting.

  14. Darren Hatley says:

The figure in the middle with the sword raised above hes head is Brilliant, I’d like to own him one day.

  15. erwin says:

Some of the poses are exactly depicting moment of being strike by sword .Poses are extremely well anatomical correct and base in exact pictures taken from 3 film.
Sanjuro ,Yohimbo and The seven samurais. Every figure come with exact moment picture in B/W photo included with it. I have then all
The scale of this and other two sets are 60 mm. Wile 8-armor other poses in 1.35 made before in skin light pink color .
A painted 50 mm scale mounted samurai set of 8 poses was also done by TT .
Japan is full of samurai plastic figures, I had collect and bough many in my trips and many are sold in China as well.
One day will try post with admin permission and his time x all you guys to see.
    Best…

    • erwin says:

They also made a set of,Droids , zombies ,another of Modern Japanese defense special forces and skeleton soldiers in same 60 mm scale 8 poses each set.
All base in TV Japanese programs not cartoons.

    • admin says:

We will be happy to show them as it is a little known area of toy soldiers outside of Japan.

  16. ed borris says:

Me, I still like the fats guys, I find them hilarious. They remind me of a good percentage of the guys at a toy soldier show.

  17. Darren Hatley says:

Yeah that would be great Erwin, I haven,t seen many Samuraii figures before, Tehnolog Samuraii are nice and i own them, And i know a Russian company which i cant think of at the moment brought out a nice looking set of Samuraii recently but at £40 for 6 figures is out of my range im afraid, But apart from that nothing. It just goes to show how many figures there are out there that we dont know about.

    • erwin says:

That was Plubius the one selling so expensive figures .
There is another set made recently in Russia of ninjas but in 90 mm scale too.
I like the Tegnolog samurais too.
Tegnolog and other older Russian gamer plastic fantasy maker did two sets of Ninjas as well ,one in 54 mm other in 60 mm too. Russians are fan of samurai figures ,most their maker do then all time in metal and plastic in all scales.
I do have a world collection, few in metal-most kinder because I admire Asian culture in general. Because rarity I collect then from 40 mm to 90 mm ,but most mine are in the 54/60 mm scale plastic…
      best..

  18. Bill Lango says:

Paul: Thanks for posting the Pink Army Women link. I think they are great and will go well in some amusing dioramas I have in mind.

  19. erwin says:

This is the 1.35 scale light pink set armor samurai and others I mention before, it come first in 90s ,I do not know it had ben reissued later or not .The set I have with pack is from 1998 wile I got extras poses later from Russia.

    • Darren Hatley says:

Thanks for the link Erwin, Again ive never seen these figures before either, And again i’d like to own at least some of these figures at sometime. How many more Samuraii figures out there that i dont know of. I think as Admin said there are perhaps many figures in Japan and perhaps other countrys that no one except a few guys like yourself knows exists. Yes ive also got the Tehnolog Ninja figures and others. There seems to be more Ninja figures around like Hing-Fat and others than Samuraii.

      • erwin says:

Well believe or not counting by my collection of abroad ,there way more Samurai sets than Ninjas in plastic. Wile in Japan Ninjas had been done as they are considered historical a semi religious monk base arm ,they had been left more less touch than else.
Most Ninjas had been done in HK,China and some western country.
The HF ninjas appear in 80s but same time appear in other countries copied as well. Greece PETALO brand sold the Hing FAT set copied, cloned ,not actual HF HK figures.
In Greece appear to be a “tradition” of even coping Chinese figures made on top all rest they had copied in 70/80s.
Funny part they sale these copies as golden finds.
There is second set made in HK less common that appear around same time.
Also two sets made in china and the last sold here in tubes that look more like monks.
there some fantastic set that mix some odd ninjas futuristic poses too but I discard those as in modern clothing.
I have one set made in Germany and send to me by a good friend MARKUS from Germany ,admin also show me some. They are well done and rare.
Samurais set made in Japan are a lot in plastic, not counting the kits by TAMIYA or AOSHIMA that I consider better than Tamiya.
I will show in collection Japan era figures one day.
        best regards…

  20. Kirk Larson says:

Has anyone had any luck actually finding the pink army women?

  21. ed borris says:

I have a set of the fat guys, they are cool.
