We have just got word that a new New Roman Figures from Russia set is coming. At the moment we only know that the set is five different Roman Legionnaires.  They look 60mm, but we have no more information at this such as price and who is making them. as we get more information we will update here.

ROMAN NEW SET 3

New Roman Figures from Russia

Update

3/14/16 We are getting in more information on these new figures. First this is the first of a series coming from this new company.  There is a set of Russian soldiers from the thirteenth century. This set will have four Russian knights plus a Viking warrior fantasy figure. (Why they are calling it a fantasy figure I do not know? I may have a photo  of the Viking Warrior figure in the near future.)  Another set that will be done is a set of European knights. The set will contain four European knights and the same Viking Fantasy figure that is in the previous set. There are also plans for mounted knights. The horses will not have armor as the maker has had casting problems.  Our Russian source  Alex feels the Romans are the best. the sets will be available in April.

The figures are made of polyurethane like Pvblivs. The maker is using a hard polyethylene for rapid solidification have been used. Now the biggest question is the price.   Alekseev Alexey of Russia is planning to sell the Roman set for $12.90 a set plus postage. He had some samples which he quickly sold. He is highly recommended by Erwin as he has bought  from him many times off Ebay.  Alex Ebay id is alex2010collection. You go to sale list at this link here.

Don ,he is using old Latin
aprox translation as from old Latin To modern English is never exact.
I think he means using a combined first two words.
( looks fine or great ,will have to see it) or (will have to see how good they look)
I may be wrong as non using Latin since I was 17

    • Don says:

      Erwin’s translation would make sense.

Unfortunately, the only words in Latin I can recognize are Julius Caesar’s famous description of his experience in Gaul: Veni, Vidi, Vici (I came, I saw, I conquered). I remember when I first heard that I was so impressed I immediately committed it to memory.

Back when I was in third grade, teachers in the American public schools still mentioned things like that occasionally. But other than that, the modern public school system is devoid of study of the classical languages, either Greek or Latin, and has been for years.

Apparently in Great Britain they still get a little of it.

      • Erwin says:

Every where is Don.I don’t think any public school in the world teaches latin for many years.
I do not know if I’m right or know.In my case was preseminar catholic school two years we learn class latin and to read a few of old Latin
I don’t know where Peter learned.
He need to tell.us and correct me if I did wrong.
