    I saw the previews other day, but I would not see it at all. I m very disappointed with todays remake.
    No digital effect will ever replace the original BH. Neither acting/actors choose are even near.
    Today movies are about PURE digital effect that make look definitely super realistic at just watching in first instance . Still in reality 90% of shots are digital images, no even doubles in most, the acting is so poor that even expression are corrected digital to make looks more dramatic. I been watching some back scenes program where they explain that the correct even adding tears and watering yes to actors face with digital images!!!
    In my opinion when a computer transform the acting and actor after editing ,it is not acting neither true theatrical portray, it is just a computer game with some human faces. Where are the true actors from true theater school that would cry or else in scene as believe their acting moment!?.
    All they do today is scream and add a big music score back that actually many times cover the voices.
    Again the so anti historical portray of roman soldiers with red cape all time, even at sea sailors.
    Another trash as last Moses version done with mediaeval battle .
    And I’m not even an old generation but my generation movies are nothing compare with old ones in most cases.
    My thoughts and views please!!

      I saw the trailer last night and was very disappointed. The special effects are over done and there is two major plot points I do not like. First making Ben Hur and Messala as brothers. Second it looks like they take out the part where Ben Hur save the Roman general. this movie is not on my list.
      I have seen the trailer for Tarzan which I waiting to see more. At the moment my movies for the next six months are Superman vs. Batman, Captain America Civil Wars and Independence Day II. the last one I am only going to go as I saw the first.

    Yes that is copy storyline of Mosses and Pharaoh raise as brother .
    Any how base in what it seems today movies base in books differ much far away from books. This differ it does not personally bother me too much as at the end both stories(book and movie) are fictitious. But it is my way looking today non real acting versus old actors plus false digital acting and the use of computer to do all, no big true replicas, not real people running horses, chariots as Heston did himself with 9 others .
    That is the best!!!. No few guys seating making video game cartons and then adding actors faces to then portray as a real life movie.
    Also. No one will ever match Heston in acting .Sorry !!!
    I’m fan of Heston.But not doubt he was one of the greatest actors
