MFCA Show 2026 Report: Beautiful Figures. The MFCA Show is the oldest toy soldier show in the United States. It is divided into two sections. One is the exhibit area. Here you have the works of various attendees, which are astounding. The other is the dealer’s area. Sadly, this part has seen better days. When I did the show in the 1970’s, the dealer’s was three-quarters of a fieldhouse. Now, the dealer’s area barely filled a large ballroom.
MFCA Show 2026 Report: The Exhibits

MFCA gets exhibitors from around the United States and Europe.

Besides figures, you will find dioramas such as the above.

The exhibits have flat figures. This one is done in black and white.

Another flat, this one of Edgar Allan Poe.

Various figures

A nice German vechile display.
A beautiful Roman Gallery Section.

There were several window box displays.

This was a fantasy piece done by Steve Pyle, whom we will see more of his work shortly.
Another great fantasy piece, I wonder how long it took the creator to make this?

Two head busts, the Medusa is fantastic.

More armor pieces

Still more armor to enjoy.
Steve Pyle

I was able to stop and talk with Steve Pyle for a bit. Steve has been doing these great displays using and converting plastic figures.

I will let Steve talk about this piece. Medieval castle diorama with 70 EXF toy soldier conversions, as of Saturday, the 25th of April, to be put away for good . The awards it was given at 3 competitions were beyond my wildest expectations. 2 overall best in show awards. 3 medals and best in show conversions and grouping awards. The shows were in Washington DC Long Island, and the last on Saturday in Philadelphia. I would like to thank Scott Lam and everyone at Expeditionary Force for their great products that make dioramas like this possible. Thanks to everyone who always encourages the builds.
Steve had the castle wall set up on a device that automatically rotated the castle wall.

Another view

Steve had a second piece on display. Here, he had Crusaders fighting Muslims.

A different view of the melee.

A more frontal view

Steve showed how he does his work. Besides Ex Force, he uses figures from Supreme and Airfix.
Dealer’s Area

The dealer’s area was very limited. I was able to pick up some of the Marx six-inch Man from Uncle figures. Another dealer had some model kits I was interested in, but they had marked the boxes with a black felt-tip pen with information. I passed.

There was not a big crowd as this was on a Friday. This show does their show on Friday and Saturday.

My friends Carol and Mike from Warhorse Miniatures were there with their figures. Here we have his U.S. Paratroopers.

Mike does some fantastic vignettes, such as Indians trading.

Behind the pack horses, you can see some Warhorse’s othe pioneers.

In the foreground, medieval villagers. In the background, various Indians and medieval.

A close-up of the Cheyenne Dog Soldiers, Mike does a lot of research to make them

Finally, Krampus and monsters

One other notable was HobbyBunker. They had a wide range of plastic and metal. I was through their bins several times. You can get more information on the MFCA Show here.

thanks Paul for showing these you took some good Pictues
Excellent report on the toy show with nice displays and presentations. Mike’s figures, as usual, are significantly improved and very well made.
I have purchased all of Mike’s native American and French and Indian War sets. Great stuff and it really supplements Barzso sets.
