A Few More Toy Shows Report

A Few More Toy Shows Report, actually two toy shows and a paper or ephemera show. The weekend of April 25, there were four different shows for me to attend. I ended up doing three of them. MFCA was one of them; my next one was the Allentown Paper Show.

A Few More Toy Shows: Allentown Paper Show

A Few More Toy Metropolis

The Allentown Paper Show is held twice a year. I went in late and saw my friends Daniel Roebuck and John Lamana. They were talking to Amy and Andy of Dark Drac. Amy and Andy do videos of toy shows and flea markets in my area. They did a video of the paper show and Chiller, which you can see here. While Amy and Andy are concentrating on monster items, the video will give you an idea of the show. Chiller was on this weekend, but I passed because of all the other shows.

I did show, and only got the above figure from Metropolis done by Nostalgia Candy. The only other item I purchased was a Hartland Little Leaguer. If you are into movie posters or other items, this is the show.

Delaware Toy Show

Chester

The Delaware Toy Show is another show held twice a year. I get early rights, and this year I was glad I did. The owners of the location had told the promoters of the show that a carnival was there on Saturday and would be out by Sunday of the show. They were not, and parking was at a premium. Being early, I got a decent spot.

Getting into a show, I found two Marx six-inch Vikings. Then I went to a friend, Tom Black. I have found many good items from him. One of the items I got from Tom was an Ideal Brainstorm, one of the supervillains from the Justice League playset. Next, I got a shock of the show, among a box of plastic figures, was a Chester from the Marx Gunsmoke Playset. This is the first time I have seen one in the wild in 40-plus years.

Here is a video of the show, where you will see my friend Daniel Roebuck again. Dan is a big Munster fan and played Grandpa Munster.

Lehigh Valley Toy Show

The Lehigh Valley Toy Show is another show that is held twice a year. It used to be in Allentown, but had to move to Palmer Township, which is East of me. I got to the show 30 minutes after the early bird time started. Getting in, I ran into Tom Stine, who said he had some items left over from the Gettysburg Show. I said I would see him later, but I did not.

The Lehigh Valley Toy Show is mostly action figures and diecast. Still, I was able to find a few items. One dealer had an Auburn wagon with horses and two HG cavemen. Another dealer had parts from the Marx Ben Hur Playset, and I got a few pieces. Finally, I picked up this Palmer werewolf from Amy and Andy, who did the two videos, which I have linked in this article. After seeing and talking with my friends Chris and Mare Lamont, I headed home.

I will have photos soon of the London Toy Soldier Show from my friend Michael Smith.
