Dollar Store Indians Part Two Mars Next Figures

Dollar Store Indians Part Two, we look at another set related to the one we showed previously. Next, we look at a new set from Mars.

Dollar Store Indians Part Two Figure Surprise

Dollar Store Indians Part Two Mounted
Laurie and I went to get the boys more biscuits. Since we were up near the dollar store where I got the dollar store Indians, I thought I would get a few sets for friends. As I was going the rack I discovered that there was a second set.
Dollar Store Indians Part Two Figure
Like the previous set, it comes with two mounted figures different from the previous set. The one horse in the set is brown.
accessories
The accessories in this set are different starting with a different caucus. Next, the bag has a tepee and a cooking stand. The tepee is very likely base on the Britains Herald Indian tepee.
ladder
One other piece in the bag was a ladder. It should have been in the other bag. Still, it is perfect to complete the platform. Overall both sets for only $2.00 are a nice little playset.

Mars Upcoming Set Nachtjagers & Volksgrenadiers

Volksturm
Our very good friend Peter Bergner sent a photo of an upcoming set from Mars German Nachtjagers & Volksgrenadiers. The Nachtjagers were night fighters. Volksgrenadiers were formed in the Autumn of 1944 and emphasize defensive strength over offensive strength.
The poses are
1. Sitting firing a heavy panzershreck
2. Running with an automatic weapon and a grenade in his left hand.
3. Standing with an automatic weapon at the waist.
4. Looking to right pack on his back holding automatic weapon down.
5. Sitting firing night scope automatic weapon
6. Standing firing right scope automatic weapon
7. Standing firing rifle with panzerfaust on back.
8. Kneeling firing antiaircraft weapon.
(I just saw this weapon on Facebook and thought that would be an interesting figure to have.)

    Dear Stad,
I wish I could buy some of those dollar store figures from you. That chain is only in the
east not here in Utah like Dollar Tree, if you want to pick up two set of each for me. I will
pay you extra for them,if not have a nice day Ed Bearnson 5-6-20.

Those Mars Germans look absolutely brilliant. I have never seen figures like it before will be getting four sets of them.

    • Craig W Scribner says:

They do look great! I will withhold my final judgement, however, until I see them unpainted. Fingers crossed!

      • Christian Aldo says:

I secretly conspired with Serg to make this set! YaY!!
        I hope you are well?

        • Craig W Scribner says:

That explains everything! LOL I’m doing fine, Christian, and I hope you and all of the other Stad’s “Comment Time” readers are doing well and staying safe too!

The new Germans look great! Good, reasonable poses and a new subject, handled well. This would have been one of the few lucky VG units that had the latest weapons and the scratch made, but every effective semi-auto Volksgrenadier rifle ( if I’m seeing this right) and a lot of MP-44s. The Nachtsichtgeraet 1 or Vampyr was a special piece of equipment not handed out lavishly. It required a 40 pound battery pack mounted on the shooter’s back. Whoever painted them did a great job, too. I can see it’s a mix of the ’44 Dot pattern and the ’45 Leibermuster camo. Somebody really thought this through.

    • Greg Liska says:

I guess I should add; I’m aware that ’44 Dot was issued to the WSS, certainly almost exclusively and Leibermuster was produced late in the war and may never have been issued. These guys would have been a very elite few. The unpainted versions won’t have that issue for sticklers.
