In a previous post, I showed this cowboy it might be from Gem. My very good friends Peter Evans and Paul Morehead let me know it was done by Hilco. As Peter Evans pointed out in his comment they did other figures in 60mm. As I replied I had only seen the 54mm western figures. I have don’t some checking and only saw the Lifeguards which look similar.

Facebook Corrections

Rel caisson
Facebook is an interesting place. I have been able to contact some old friends. I have some new friends and learn things. One other thing is helping people to identify items. One recent help was when some listed the Renwal cavalry as MPC. I gave the correct id and used my old photo from a Plastic Warrior show showing the Triang version of the Renwal caisson.
Another example was people tell a person that his Marx 60mm Mexican War figures were BMC!. I gave the correct answer. We need to help our fellow collectors.
Apemen

Vincent Mandoro on Facebook showed pages from the Hing Fat catalog. One of the interesting items was a bag titled Ape Man. The bag set has 30 pieces. At this time we do not how many different poses are in the set. We can see three different colors. The set is inspired by the Planet of the Apes movies. We keep a watch for more information.

Marx Convention Is Canceled Take Two

As we mentioned before the show had been canceled then we were told it had not been canceled. Well, now it is officially canceled. Besides this show, the show in Andale Virginia is canceled as well for June. At the moment the next show will be at the Lafayette Show in Indiana.

Actual Planet of the Apes toy soldiers would be amazing, but this Hing Fat set just looks like cavemen from what I can see. I think they are original poses, which is nice.

If they do have ape heads it will be a nice set. I’d prefer them to look more like the apes in the 70s movies, though. Even if they are cavemen I’d like a couple of bags. I’d probably use them with my Marx and Tehnolog Vikings for a 13th Warrior inspired battle against Neanderthal holdovers. I hope they are available soon.

Yeah i agree that actual Planet Of The Apes type figures would different and interesting but if they look basically like Cavemen that’s ok with me also as they could be used as wild barbarians that live in the mountains and attack any would be passers by, And would also be useful as Fantasy Warriors, Or just Cavemen.
