November Plastic Figure Information BMC Toys

November Plastic Figure Information, we start looking at the BMC Toys’ Kickstarter for their women soldiers. Next, we find out the delay on the Mars Elite Infantry in Winter Gear. Finally, I show some acquisitions.

November Plastic Figure Information Kickstarter

Earlier this year we showed the BMC Toys women plastic soldiers. As you will remember they came about after a young girl complain there were no female soldiers. Jef Imel ofBMC Toys responded to the girl that he would produce female soldiers. The story got national attention.

Well, Jeff has started a Kickstarter program that has succeeded beyond his expectations. The set of 24 figures is now up to 12 different poses. He has various levels on the Kickstarter program ranging for $25.00 for three-figure bags (plus $5.00 postage.) to $300.00 or more for 1200 figures free shipping. The offers with a resin prototype figure have sold out. I would strongly recommend you supporting this great project. I will.

Mars WWII German elite Infantry in Winter Dress

November Plastic Figure Information Germans
My good friend Andrey Buslov has informed us the Mars WWII German Elite Infantry Winter Dress is now available. Andrey said the reason for the delay was Mars had to repair the mold. The mold has been repaired and now ready for sale. In the photo above you can see the breakdown of the fifteen figures in a box. (Each box can be different in figure configuration.)

Here is a closeup of one of the figures. They can be bought internationally from Andrey Buslov on Ebay here. In the states, Ken Sprecher will be carrying them.

Additions to the Collection

collection items
You might what I keep from the items purchased at a show. These are the three items I kept from my purchases at the East Coast Toy Soldier Show. The cowboy on the left I found mixed in a table of mostly metal figures. The other two were in a junk lot. The MPC fence I want as a sample from this company. The figure at the right is a Deluxe Reading fireman.
Two Cowboys
When I got the figure home, he looked similar to another figure in the collection. Sure enough, it was the same except the head. The two figures were made by an Italian company used a steer head as a logo.
Pirate and Tangled
The last two figures are from my source for PVC figures. The figure on the left is another Disney Infinity figure. This time is Captain Barbossa, which will go to a friend. The other figure is for my Tangled Collection the short thug. I have one more item which will be in the next post.

The Italian company that made the cowboy figure was Landi and marked these figurines as “Xiloplasto”. Landi was active in the 60s and they produced figure of the old western (Indians, cowboys, US cavalry, Confederates and Unionists), Italian WWII soldiers, and soldiers from the Unity of Italy war (Garibaldini, Bersaglieri and Austrians) all marked as Xiloplasto. Later this company produced other figures of the same periods in slightly smaller size, and marked as Cromoplasto. During a very brief period (I believe it was a short transaction between the Xiloplasto and the Cromoplasto periods) that company produced highly defined figures and marked as Landi. These last figurines are rather hard to find and collect. Each figurine is generally sold on eBay for over $250.

Is there any news on the Mars French old guard figures seem that they have been promoted about but have not seen any news on them.

  3. Erwin says:

I imagine the new BMC woman soldiers will blend or match well with japanese made TAKARA TOMMY set I post here no long ago.
Wonder if mixing poses could be use to create new ones as well.

  4. My parcel with the Mars German Elite was shipped EXPRESS November 1. On November 8th it was processed through the Kiev P-1 postal center and on November 13th processed through the Kiev P-2 postal center. I have never had this kind of delay and wonder if it has anything to do with our current political mess. As it is an EXPRESS shipment I should have gotten it by now and apparently it is still in the Ukraine……

It’s been my experience with some countries – particularly when my son and his family were in China and the Philippines – if my package arrived unopened or at least intact as far as everything we sent, to be overjoyed.

  6. AJ says:

From now until Christmas, I worry about USPS and try to avoid shipping or receiving any parcels. I’m sure we ALL have our horror stories about delayed, misplaced, returned, smashed, and completely lost packages. Ever try to call USPS to complain? HaHaHaHaHa!!!! It’s ALWAYS “the computer” that did it! As far as “Customs”: I refer you to the inscription on the Gates of Hell in Dante’s Inferno: “Lasciate Ogni Speranza, Voi Ch’entrate.” (All hope abandon, you who enter!!)

: abandon all hope, ye who enter

Mars Elite Germans do NOT impress!!

    • Alex Baldwin says:

The Elite Germans (SS) were definitely one of the weakest sets Mars has produced and not really worth picking up. Since then, however, they’ve continued to improve. The Luftwaffe field division is a strong set (minus the color) and the Japanese Infantry were also very good. I look forward to picking up the Japanese Special Naval Landing Force, The Don Cossacks, The German Winter Troops, and probably a couple more boxes of the German Panzergrenadiers (which were very good and in a nice Green Grey that fits the Germans well).

  8. Erwin says:

At custom when they see you often receive or ship out to specific countries address they will random start checking it.
I been told this several time now.
Plus I once apply and work x three month many years ago for USPS and was explain in the training.
I been receiving and mailing to east europe(Russia Ukrania)and import x business since late 90s and once in while some package got stock x review often months and no way you can accelerate it as there thousand as you as well.
So be patience and wait .Is all you can do.
    Best

  9. Christian Aldo says:

I ordered 3 boxes of the new Mars – Winter Germans!
    I love MARS!!!
To me, MARS is the new AIRFIX!!!!!

  10. Wayne W says:

I see MARS definitely heading in that direction as they work out certain kinks in production and improve the quality of their output. They’re not quite Airfix yet (IMO) – but moving closer – particularly as they work in both 1/72 and 1/32 scales. Their 1/72 Napoleonic Russian Infantry sets were great in my book in terms of sculpting. I bought several boxes of each and I am looking forward to the next sets in this series.

And I probably will pass on their WW2 German Elites (1/32 – I don’t collect 20th Century in 1/72 anymore) but hope to be able to pick up their other 1/32 sets after Christmas. Kudos.

  11. Jack Gibbons says:

I have bought and sold within eastern Europe. No problems with the few Ukrainian transactions. I always been impressed with the Russian Federation postal system. Many shipments always delivered on time every time, good rates, and never any impacted packages. It makes me wonder about the USPS, and why it can’t be more effective.

  12. Brian says:

I’ve never had problems with Russian Post Office(So far) and I also have bought several items from Bulgaria(Ever think back in the day you would be getting mail from Bulgaria?!?) with no problem. The country I’ve had the most problems with is ITALY both receiving and sending, often when I send something to ITALY it never seems to show up or it’s been opened and items missing.MAMMA MIA!

  13. Jeremy says:

Hi Everyone, I will be in London next week. Are there any shops that might carry the Mars Winter German Elite 1/32 that you might know of? Cheers

  14. Jeremy says:

Thanks so much! I don’t wanna miss it. Cheers!
