August Reader’s Contributions Two, two of our friends from Germany have shared some recent finds. First, Detlef Heerbrand shares with us a mystery Civil War figure. Second, Markus Lecksheid shares items he got at a flea market.

August Reader’s Contributions Two Mystery Figure

August Reader's Contributions Two Detlef
Detlef got the following figure. Based on the type of base, the figure is a lollipop holder. Very popular in Europe you would get a figure to hold the lollipop. the question is the figure is original or copy of someone else ‘s figure. I told Detlef that it is not based on an American figure. Any ideas on this figure?

Markus Figure Finds

August Reader's Contributions Two flea market
Markus Lecksheid went to a flea market this weekend and found some interesting items. The biggest find was a the Reamsa figure in the upper right corner. Markus was surprised to see the Reamsa figure as far as he knows they were never sold in Germany. He feels that very likely it brought in by someone who got it in Spain. The soldiers in the upper left are by Dom. The Timmee soldier very likely made in Germany. The rocket launcher is similar to the cereal premium one we had here.
August Reader's Contributions Two Fort Deck
Marcus other find was a surprise. This fort was a Hong Kong copy of the Jean Jean/Big Fort Laramie.
Hong Copy Indians
The figures are Hong Kong copies of the Britains swoppet figures.
Box contents
This is the contents of the box. Most of the pieces are still on the sprue.
Instruction sheet
here is the instruction sheet showing how to put the figures together.
Cannon caisson
Markus biggest surprise was seeing the Hong Kong copy of the Jean caisson and cannon. The cannon looks like it can fire shells. I will have to ask Markus on that.

Odds and Ends

I think the figure above is made in Portugal and belong to series set made of ACW .I could wrong as is a guess base in long ago set saw in a web page from brazil.
The Reamsa figure if blue/Grey blue, should be a Belgian Marine(painted as that ) and specially sold in sets of 9 figures in 3 poses under the Box series (EUROPLAY) that were specifically made for Belgium and also sold in Holland and France in late 60s to late 70s.
I will think it would be easy somehow got in to Germany by any traveller or maybe sold by small store in border area with Germany .
Reamsa under comision sold the some of same early(1964/66)Spaniard military sets and foreign armies march band .Just a guess.
Also were sold unpainted international under name series(DECOFIGUR ) with paint , brushes ,11 figures not painted and a 12th pose figure painted as a sample/model.
The HK playset if were x sale i will love buy it .
    It is pristine condition .WOW!!!
    Awesome amazing find
I wish find one like that one day .
The indians and cowboys are base in Herald swoppet and same i post here before as BB and later made by ST.

Thanks Erwin for the hint on Reamsa in Belgium. Think the must have been exported to Belgium and France in some numbers as they do turn up there on toy and figure shows much more often than in Germany. Kind of weird but especially Belgium seemed to be a market for almost all European makers in the 60 and 70s. England, France, Germany, Itlay, Spain plus Solido from Belgium itself. Haven’t been to Belgium in my childhood days (my late faather took us only to the Netherlands in that direction for holidays).
Same maybe for France as I was kind of surprised how many Reamsa and Jecsan figures had been out for sale at French figurines show when I went there first in late 90’s .
The Timmee GI is of course marked Made in Germany.
Canon has firing mechanism. Orange log house plus fort are somehow dwarfed by the figures. Closer to about 1:48 to 1:50 scale. Really weird set. Did never see it before.

  3. denitz says:

Lollipop figure probably from Poland. Looks like downscaled Jecsan ACW bugler figure.

  4. denitz says:

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

You are right I was looking at the Dom and missed the Atlantic figure. My bad

  5. Markus says:

Yes, figure in upper row is Atlantic.
White indian same row could be KOHO.
Second row starts with DOM/MANURBA circus director/lion tamer.
Fire fighter could be made in china. Lying firing DOM/MANURBA again.
No idea on flat figure (I usually don’t collect but just came with the lot).

    • denitz says:

Markus, please hold flat figure for me 🙂

    • ERWIN F SELL says:
