If you can be at the show please come as it looks like this will be the last show. This is a great show with a wide range of figures and accessories for your collection.

Laurie and I will be there.  Laurie will be at Gerry Watts’ tables most of the time while I am roaming either buying or taking photos.  You never know what you will find at this show.

Hope to see you there.

  1. I will see you there Paul. I’ll bring those figures with me. I have a set still in the original package. Sorry for the delay. I have been busy and didn’t get a chance to go through everything.

      See you there Mike.

Paul, I understand Bill Lango has passed away, but why do you feel that no one else will take over & continue to promote such an established show? Both Mike Murphy and John Stengel Jr. are experienced toy soldier show promoters and both reside there in the Northeast. It seems to me a good bet that both of them are at least considering taking it over. I don’t have any inside information on this — I just think it seems a likely scenario.

There are other possibilities, too. When Barry Carter, who created and ran the Indiana Toy Soldier Show passed away, three enthusiastic collectors in the area — Rick Keller, Rod Chapman, and Steve Connell — banded together and kept an excellent, established show both going and growing. Even Chicago changed hands when Don Pielen decided to retire, and even with the loss of TSSD seems to be doing very well.

Regardless, it is, of course, important that toy soldier collectors do in fact come out for the November 4 show. I know Mr. Murphy and Mr. Stengel will be there selling as well as observing to see if such a well-attended, long-running show is still viable without having Bill Lango directly at the helm.

At the moment Don we have not heard of anyone taking over the show. I might get more details on Sunday. It will not feel the same with Bill not there.

Oh, no. Not the last Phila MFCA show?

  3. George A Albany says:

Oh, okay, I feel a little bit better, not that I’ve been able to attend any recent shows. My knees are a little bit better, so what happens? The abscess they operated on on my right foot has put me back in the hospital; surgery sometime today. Sheesh.
