I just got back from the Chicago Show. I just do the room trading on Thursday & Friday. Thought it was better than last year. Nothing like it was 10 years or so ago but still a lot of fun.

Gary, glad to hear you were able to make it.

Like you, over the past several years, I would spend two days of room trading, and then skip the actual show on Sunday, by that time being overloaded and somewhat worn out as to toy soldiers.

And I agree with you: the show being not quite as big as 10 years ago still does not detract from what a big, great, worthwhile show it is today, and still totally fun.

Feel free, once you’ve recuperated and reorganized, to share with us more of your impressions, observations, etc., as well as the things you acquired this year.

I, too, thought the show was wonderful. There seemed to be as many dealers as there ever had been, at least at the show itself. All three halls were completely filled and there was tons of product. On Saturday the room trading appeared to be fairly brisk. Hall traffic had increased noticeably. I think, perhaps, what maybe happening is that people are not staying in the hotel as long because of concern about cost (more of us on fixed income?). Anyway, it’s still quite a remarkable show and tons and tons of fun.

Great talking to you Gary, by the way. It’s been too long.

I almost did not make it to this years CTSS due to work travel. Took a red eye from the West Coast to O’hare rather than fly home to Michigan on Sunday. Arrived at the Hyatt a couple of hours before the show started and took a nap in my car. I walked around the show for over three hours. Purchased a few items from different vendors, really enjoyed the King & Country and the other dioramas. I also loved the beautiful aircraft from Warring Warbirds but they are way out of my price range. After leaving the show went over to Woodfield and bought some Garrett popcorn for my spouse. Listened to the Bears game on my drive home and was definitely glad I did not miss the show this year.
