Another Hong Kong Prince Valiant

Here is another Hong Kong Prince Valiant figure. I have had this figure in the collection for years so I do not remember where I got him. Like Mark’s figures he has Hong Kong on the base in the front.  What other figures exist in this series we will have to wait and see.

You know at almost every show I attend I see some bizarre non-descript figure I have never seen before in my life in some box of mixed figures. Usually they are some gloppy looking figure in some Chinese attempt at a knock off of someone else’s figure, but sometimes they are interesting and I buy them just for that reason. Usually I end up giving them to someone else at some point, but I’m goign to have to start collecting some of the more interesting ones and share them with you guys.

I got started keeping odd figures for my stories. From there I got interedted in knowing more about them. I like the diversity of Spain and gotten some nice figures from there. I have found some interesting figures from China. I love the Hard medieval figures I found last year. You can build up an interesting display of figures from what you find. .

I picked up an odd one from Rick Keller at Kane County, it’s either a Bergen or a Michel, he’s a riding cowboy resin or hard plastic semi painted, some of the paint is lost of course. He’s riding in a relaxed pose and the price was right, Rick gave him to me. He’s bigger then the usual Michel figure so I figure he must be a Bergen.

I like the figure, he is in a very nice action pose. I especially like swords as well. Like the marx frontiersman with sword and bugle. Lol, ( that pose is a classic). I have never seen that Valiant either. (sigh). I like all the Valiant versions shown. You can tell that figure has seen many battles as well. He’s a neat figure. Thanks for sharing him Paul

I enjoy sharing some othe figures I find. Sadly most are tuck away in boxes, so the pictures are a way to sahrew them with everyone.

I appreciate it too Paul. Otherwise I would never be aware of them. Also in your archives, I believe you stated you were lookig for the Baronial Knight from Cherilea ? You stated it was pretty rare and hard to find, do you have the figure now Paul ? If not I will keep a lookout for it for you as well. I am no expert on that figure though. I think they have some on ebay, but I do not want to reactivate my ebay, nor paypal accounts, because of issues with them long ago.

We have the Cherilea Baronial knight. We got it years ago. It is not as rare as I thought as at least dozen have been found in France. Thanks

    Hi Paul
I have been enjoying your lively discussions.
My favorite part of toy soldier collecting is the creation of a new figure from broken parts of others.
I am seeking broken & damaged 4omm Elastoiln, Starlux & Merten figures to add to my armies.
I hope Gerry Watts has a good turnout & successful Christmas sale.
Please pass along my email address to similair colectors.
    Thanks
    Michael
