Peter Evans sent an interesting mix in his latest package.  The figures on either side of the center figure are to placed on the edges of the glass.  I wonder what Queen Elizabeth thinks of these chintzy things they make of her.

The center figure is a conversion. The original figure was a Timpo solid Montgomery with head change. Peter made him into Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart from Doctor Who. He was one of my favorite characters from show played by Nicholas Courtney.  I met him at a comic book convention many years ago.

These soldiers were made for Tapper Candies in 1999. They were done for the movie Toy Story.  The soldiers look like they could be to hold a lollipop. I know there is fourth pose.

Peter sent me more superheroes for my collection. One of these days I have to see how many different Spidermans I have.

I am not a fan of the Walking Dead, but I like the pose of Rick. I could use him as a partisan or as crook.  For now I will keep in his packaging and will keep lookout for a loose one.

I remember seeing this set of  three gangsters with a pistol that shot plastic bullets. It was in my local drug store and I knew my parents would not buy it for me because the bullets.  I finally got the figures in adult life. Over the years I have gotten more of the figures but never see the set.

Cleaning in the basement I keep finding little treasures like this figure. At first glance it looks like a copy of the Matchbox British Army standing firing rifle. What do you think?

Green soldier is British paratrooper part of 10 poses set by Revell in 90s together with other three WW 2 sets and modern set they did .
    Best

Some interesting figures, I especially like the Doctor Who conversion, I used to love that show when I was a kid in 1970s and 80s, But outgrew it after that. I also like the Superhero figures, I have some myself and have converted some into Fantasy figures.

I agree, nice conversion. Have there ever been Dr.Who figures done in 1/32 scale ? Years ago I saw a die-cast TARDIS for sale at a toy show, it looked like it might be about that size ? Isn’t Dr. Who that fellow who eats babies?

  3. TDBarnecut says:

    Oh, sorry….Jelly Babies 🙂

  4. Darren Hatley says:

That’s right, When I was watching the Doctors were John Pertwee and Tom Baker. It was Tom Baker who always had a bag of jelly babies, I love them myself and buy a bag now and then, After Tom Baker was replaced I started losing interest but I was getting older as well. Not sure if 1/32 scale figures were done of them but I wouldn’t be surprised.

I have that Walking Dead Rick figure too. I couldn’t resist and opened it up. I’ll probably regret that in the future. Great pose but the only problem is he is missing a hand. It would be easy enough to get another hand and stick it on there. It’s his right hand that’s missing, so you would probably have to make him into a two-gun figure, as not that many toy soldiers have empty right hands.

By the way, for some reason the figure reminds me of a gun-toting Shaggy from Scooby Doo.

  6. Daithi Gilfoyle mcgroarty says:

The figure is aRevell 1/32 scale British Paratrooper.-A nice set!

  7. Peter Evans says:

There have been 54mm Doctor Who figures in plastic.
Corgi made a set with Davros, Tom Baker Era Doctor, Dalek and Cyberman.
They also made a Die cast Tardis and Bessie ( the Doctors Car) They can still be found on Ebay.
Another company, the name escapes me at the moment made 60mm scale Daleks in plastic – some with voice boxes, depicting both the TV and Film versions

  8. Brian Johnson says:

REALLY wish Revell would upscale their 1/72 sets to 1/32!!

    • Daniel Murphy says:

I second the motion about Revell upscaling their 1/72 sets to 1/32. I’d also like to see a regular re-release schedule for their 1/32 sets, including the Matchbox reissues.

      • Erwin says:

The matchbox reissues are all over the place. They are all over reissued around.
Revell as all other stop making 1/35( as their set are more in 1/35 than actuall 1/32) after poor sales in large scale range line.
Typical test market w few releases. With 4 ww2 sets ,one modern and 6 accurate mold sets releases.
They went to stop producing and renting the Matchbox mold to reissue some of their set only ,yet stop that too quicky
They stop cold in production of their own.
I doubt they will ever Do any “upscale ” set of HO as they learn their lesson.
I had not see a single maker one that had stop com In back in same . In the former Kit maker produce range-Esci,Italeri.Emhart.Waterloo.Imex.Accurate.Pegasus….Hat =(trying using the hard way w collectors supporting the cost only and no set yet done)
        My thought.

  9. Jack Gibbons says:

The modern soldiers with overly large weapons did hold lollipops. I gave a bunch out as party favors for my 7 year-old’s (he is almost 18 now) birthday party. They were real hits with the boys. I don’t know if they liked the soldiers or suckers better.

    • admin says:

Thanks for the insight. In Europe figure have been popular as lollipop holders.

      • Erwin says:

They are in bagas at Party City.
Least last time i pass by last year but are a bit crude than these.so I will guess are copies wasted else.
        They come assorted colors too.
