Well Very Soviet heroic dedicated set not doubt .
I can only use it for 007 and Rambo movies scenes I guess..
    My thoughts…
    Best..

  2. ed borris says:

    Nice looking figures, good job.

  3. Don Perkins says:

You can also use them with Afghan Mujadeen, which will likely be an upcoming Eng. Bassevitch set. If not, the AIP Mujadeen are quite good.

    • Tom Black says:

Nice! Mars also did 70’s Soviets and Mujadeen. Also a couple years ago Erwin was selling some Russian made 1/32 vehicles that were used in Afghanistan.

      • erwin sell says:

Indeed and sold out x now and long …
The LINTEK sets I sold too could blend with these and with Airfix/ESCI Spertnatz and WARSW sets plus AIP Mujadeen the armies are growing for Soviet-Afghan war….
I’m glad for this set …

  4. Brian Johnson says:

The Officers at attention and saluting and karate kicker are pretty IMHO useless poses. The rest are good though but I think the figure you think is wearing a gasmask is wearing a tankers helmet instead.I just wish EB would do more OPFOR sets for their sets.

  5. Greg Liska says:

I can’t see if No. 9 has a gas mask on, but he’s wearing an armored crewman helmet (for tankers, BTR, BRDM or BMP crewman).

    • erwin sell says:

Greg no Gas mask but correct in typical late early 70s till recently used Sheepskin Lambskin tank hats…
The radio operator kneeling is a woman .
I forgot they can be use for afghanistan -soviet war an also some as iraqi soldiers too in some poses for both wars .For me in particular I can use any pose as again not every one is fighting .
Another welcome addition to the fast east toy soldiers producers of today Hobby .
Detail is impressive and sculpture as usual from EB
As west is already dormant for long ….
      best…

  6. Mark T. says:

They look good, but what’s the weapon #10 is using? It looks like a biblical sling. One thing I notice is some of the poses look a little stiff (not counting the General, for whom it’s obviously intended) compared to other Basevich releases.

    • denitz says:

#10 using army belt with heavy buckle

      • Erwin says:

That is what I imagine and thw russian belt is darm heavy in the metal part that is big.you can swing and crack the head of any one easy.
But I remenber see as to be use to disarm knife combatant and ballonet charging too.
I like the pose as original ….

  7. Darren Hatley says:

Nice looking figures as always from EB but not my era of figure collection, So I will pass on these.

  8. Greg Liska says:

I’m not sure what No.10 is using, but my guess is it’s riot control weapon, like a section of rubber hose, but actually made for smacking down a crowd. The 3 wearing berets on the top row are Paratroopers. They go through a lot of Martial Arts / hand-to-hand training. In Bosnia in 1996 the Russian Paras were in Uglovic’ (sp?) and a friend of mine was the liaison officer there. I came to visit and I wanted to PT (i.e.-work out) with them. My buddy told me, “No, you don’t. Not on Wednesday. That’s their hand-to-hand day which means they beat the crap out of each other”. I watched. It was insane! They obviously were not concerned about injuries. He told me it’s the one time private soldiers can hit back at their NCOs and they do not miss the opportunity.
No.5’s ‘automatic weapon’ is the PKM machine gun. It’s rather short, though. It’s probably the only criticism I would make about the sculpting.

    • ERWIN SELL says:

Pose number 10 if is the one with (item in his right hand) that is his belt as far i can see .Part of Soviet era -least army karate training is to use it as weapon or tool .I remember it being touch and pass as training to MININT and black wasps by Soviet instructors….Funny times..
I do not know if is also used in other corps during training .
Some of the poses may be easy converted as WW2 poses i think with some cuts and sanding.
      My thoughts..
      Best..

    • erwin says:

I agree the PKM looks way too short and poor detailed,it looks at far distance a mix with a BAR !? type to me.Some AKM do not have tip well done as well.
For such price and well done figures a consideration should be take when making pride of own nation weapons and military historical figures.
      my thoughts.
      best…

  9. Tom Black says:

With the Mars sets, CTS Chinese and N. Koreans, Bassevich Cubans, TSSD US Vietnam Marines and NVA we now have a large variety for Cold War scenarios. Too bad Airfix did their Modern sets in 1/35 scale unlike their WW2 range. Also the Esci Soviets (Spetnaz?) are close to 1/32 but their NATO sets are 1/35. We need some Cold War era allies. I know Britains did the 70’s Paras in 1/32 but there needs to be more poses. Some French from the Indochina/ Algerian War era would be ideal.

    • Erwin says:

      I agree in abobe brands…
The French had been covered plenty by French brands.
The more common still not that hard to find in late reissues are the Cofalu paras, army, FFL and marines sets.
Other such Starlux and Jim are around too.
Problem is to match or blend the scales…
I have all those but need accommodate w right scales in scenes too.
Britain late swivel modern NATO last sets and some chinese sets I had post here plus HK sets are of great use too.
      My thoughts..
      Best…

      • Erwin says:

        I Forgot…
Atlantic has several modern sets as well . ….
Co Ma brand marines and Paras are cold war era too.
All not hard to find often but not that cheap of course. ..

  10. ERWIN SELL says:

Update from Russian friend Alex …
Officer in left side of picture is Marshal Ustinov
    best…

  11. Christian Aldo says:

    LAUGHABLE!!!!

  12. Andy says:

It would be nice if someone made the major ACW generals. The Russians beat us into space and are ahead in playset personalities.

  13. denitz says:

    Terrible set in my opinion.

    1. It’s not soviet ARMY, but mainly soviet AIRBORNE TROOPS.
    2. Incorrect and fantastic uniform. Very strange but true.
    3. Too many unusable poses.
    4. As Erwin said above, they are good for “action film” only. But just here we have real explanation. Figures based on soviet army propaganda action films :

Thanks for update and correction, it will be interesting to find out why Igor Bassevitch did this set. The one figure is using his belt as a weapon.
