I am Right on These Napoelonic Figures

I told Rick that his mystery figures are by Italeri. They are the Austrian Napoleonic Infantry. So am I right or wrong?

I got over hundred of them from both sets, Italeri did two Austrian sets. The second has grenadiers and imperial guard infantry

  3. Greg Liska says:

I remember when they were released. A friend of mine had a ton of them.

  4. bill nevins says:

I’ve got 6 boxes of these. I was going to convert them into Hessians and never did.

The charging grenadier is, IMHO, one of the best plastic figures ever made. There is something so dashing about him (pun not intended). And the marching figure too – not quite attac- march but the left arm can be manipulated across to simulate the pose. Attack-March is, for me, THE 18th Century pose – it epitomises the period in my mind, all those serried ranks marching into battle…marvellous!

They were the sole reason I finally gave up and went into Napoleonics – and Austro-Hungary as the army I started with – and all those lovely tight bright blue trousers on the Hungarians clinched it!

The second set of earlier Napoleonic figures actually had Attack-March poses, which made my task a little easier, and some figures in the earlier casquet, which I used for the Grenzer.

Two very nice sets from Italeri, now sadly out of 1/32nd scale plastic figures altogether.

I agree Italeri sculpting is awesome. They use former ESCI artist on it.
Too bad they stop but least cover an army in Napoleonic and before priods so neglected.
In fact Austrian and the Russian fought more and largest bloody battle s than most alied in the period of 1795 till 1813.
Austrian army was not call Austrian Hungarian till 1867 after dual monarchy.
All do Hungarian compose a good percentage their units were often integrated in german or with else name units.
Austrian Augsburg imperial army was the most multicultural and multy religous army of the time with Hungarian, rumanian,Servians,Croats, schez, polish, italians, germans , macedonian, and others units with musilm, catholics, ortodox, protestant units in their rank as well tartas scouts mounted regiments and Swiss corp too.
    Best regards….

If the marching pose is one above is not quite marching. Is the drill stand ready to position x fire.
Marching generally require left arm holding musket as support too.Used too in hastly march.
The above pose has been done in many others brand.
Observe legs positioned almost as if stoping walking and hand loose get ready to changeswap weapon to prepare to fire or load.
It is often show as step 4 in frenc h and prussian fire drill manuals books from 1700 till mid 1800s.

  8. ed borris says:

Close enough to marching for me to necessitate him immediatley being thrown in the useless pile, except for possibly a head swap later on.

  9. Rich Fisher says:

Guys- thanks for the help in identifying these figures. Does anyone know how many different poses there are in each set & does anyone have extras that they would sell of the poses that are NOT pictured???

    • erwin says:

Each set has 8 poses (16 poses total) if I’m not mistake, I got then off box and mix.
Mine are not x sale, Sorry.
Link I post above are the best you can get, unless try abroad from other sites.
      At shows often pup easy.
Italeri Hussar are the most wanted .
      Best regards…

  10. bill nevins says:

Rich, I think the boxes that I have are what is pictured.
But this guy has them along with every Nap plastic around. Reasonable prices for the Austrians. I’m looking for the mounted French Dragoons.
I’ve converted them into AWI 3 rd Continental Cavalry and need a few more to finish my
    Unit.
