Odds and Ends

People are asking on me the cost of the new Russian Revolution figures. We have gotten a price qoute from one source.  For one each of the four different sets plus the four poses which were not in the first set due to damage to the mold the cost would $140.00 plus shipping from Russia. This would be for a total of 46 figuresof which 40 would be different. At this time I do not know of any dealer in the U.S. or Europe who is planning to carry the figures. If we hear of a dealer, who decides to carry the figures, we will pass it along.

We were getting more information on the Plastic Warrior show. The show was a little off due to the bank holiday and rail work.  Those who were at show had a good time.  First time attendee Tony of AIP like the relaxed atmosphere of the show. Tony  said he would be putting out cannon and gun crews for the Seven Years Wars. We know it as the French and Indian War.  Ron Barzso was back showing his new figures for his upcoming Battle of Lexington Playset. The feedback was very positive.  The nice thing about PW is the chance to find unusual figures. Our very good friend Axel was able to get some Indian children for one of his set ups. The figures he got I believe are Lone Star.  When I have been over I have found more figures for my personal collection than any other show. We hope to have more reports in from the show.

This week Laurie had the week off and we tried to get to some flea markets we normally do not get to. One of the markets is on a Tuesday and whenever we go the weather is bad. This time the weather was over cast so there were a few dealers outside. I found one dealer had a bunch of so so Marx western mixed in with junk figures. I picked out a few figures  and asked a price. He want $10.00, I offered a lower price he turned it down and I walked away. I did find a box with some figures for $10.00 that I can price out.  I also got a Marx slot car. Laurie looked at jewelry, but it was over priced for her.  The flea market is part of a farmers market so we were able to get some food products we liked. On the way home we stopped  for some breakfast at a diner we had found on a previous trip. Laurie and I both had cheese steak omlets.

I will be checking out MFCA nextFriday.

Just curious, what do you collect? Any specific manufacturers?

I collect poses I like. I am not interested in completing certain sets. It goes back to my childhood where I would take a figure and give him story line. The Marx 60mm Pioneer firing flintlock pistol pistol started as a villian, but later became a hero. When I stop doing my stories he was third most powerful person in the country.
