I hope all these are prototypes as I found few things odd
-Weapons are a bit odd in size and the ballonets(too long) on Germans and American look more Japanese type than later ww2 American/German blade
-Many uniforms are very clean and well fit, not as regular combative soldier should be (like old Airfix, matchbox figures)that look like coming from a military parade ready for a fight.
-Many poses are very repeated of what we had seen later from Conte, tssd and others
-What is up with the hair style on Germans(the look very 70’s too me)!!?
-The bazooka loader pose is incorrect depicted

    On the good side.
Adrian helmet for French and colonial troopers IS a great idea.
Sculpt detail look great in general, bases are fine with me too
The arms plug in THESE are plus on these figures to change poses

For those prices they charge we should expect more perfection(my opinion)!!
but at the end they will release what they did…so we should not complain too much I guess!!!

  2. Don Perkins says:

I agree with both Brian and Ervin: The American uniforms look a little too well-tailored, sort of like they are headquarter guards at the pentagon or some top secret installation that doesn’t see much action, not like real field troops, whose uniforms would be loose and comfortable, not close-fitting. The Airfix and Matchbox look better suited to troops on campaign.

But I definitely like the idea of WWII French troops with the Adrian helmets. I’m hoping these will be in the Marx French blue of the Battleground sets, to add a little color to our otherwise drab, blase, WWII battlescenes. And although the American poses did, as Erwin says, appear somewhat repetitious of the Conte, TSSD, and CTS that we already have, I thought the German poses seemed new and original.

All in all, I think it’s amazing that the hobby at this date has a new, excellent producer of realistic plastic figures that are being made with regular, consistent, on-going release dates and new historical periods not previously covered (Thracians, Persians, mounted Greeks), but also original posing of old, favorite historical periods (Civil War, Medieval, and now WWII). One of these days, Exped. Force may release my all-time favorite — French Foreign Legion.

In the meantime, we can all be supportive (by purchasing) their current product offerings, which is the best method of encouraging them to expand into new lines. In the last issue of Playset Magazine, Rusty Kerns makes this point in his reply to one of the letters which appeared.

As I look a second time at the Exped. Force website, I have to agree with another of Ervin’s observations: Some of the American helmets don’t quite have the right curvature at the base, and in consequence look like Japanese helmets. Also, the U.S. and German bayonets are way too long, once again making them look like Japanese bayonets.

The British fought the Germans too, maybe one day we’ll those ‘ordinary British layabouts’ made by some US / Chinese companies

  5. ERWIN says:

I agree too ,what happen with the British!!!?.Not a single company(minus Conte paras) from US had done British since Marx. Only BMC (china) did the horrible figures and 21 century /forces of valor too.
Steve Weston 6 British are so far the only ones done and by a British indeed.
May be I payback for lack of Napoleon enemies done by British companies in the 70 like airfix, timpo and Britain that only produced late period British and few Prussians.!!??LOL!!
I hope some could do some more British and in tropical campaign too for Africa and Asia.
Funny part on this is. EF is from Singapore(a former UK colony in fact founded by Britain).Wonder if they remember that.

  6. ERWIN says:

I did notice the US helmet first, now I got, yes that is odd too. Also the Adrian helmet look to high pick I guess .I general on the Germans and American uniforms are way to neat, the collars too well fix and German collar neck in action were barely close tide, is hard to see then using the tunic (m40/41) as depicted here with the collar neck close all the way in photos or war documentary, also most figures like supposedly represent mid 1943 till end war regular German infantry that but that time should be wearing the standard the later m43 tunic with more relaxing edges and less fancy pockets as Conte correctly depicted and most later CTS did too.
The US weapons look rare in sizes, the sniper rifle look too short in my opinion versus M1 GARAND
the arms swap are good but in this case as ww2 (specially US used several types of mag/ammo) pouches ,if you swap the one with M1 to the one with Tommy Gun magazine belt..it won’t match good..So they should take consideration on that as it will match in regular same weapon figures or early like Napoleonic , civil war else.WW II is confusing as different type and variety of weapon.
So far out all seen I’m not impress; what EF had done before look more much better, here history and uniform/weapon got mix up and poses should been carefully choose better. Hope the final touches clean some of the errors; as poses goes I think we have to be grateful we got some more. So far on this last sets I will not rush on get then soon

  7. Brian Johnson says:

I think some of the “GI” figures are supposed to be wearing the French Army M-51 helmet,if so shows some thought going into the sculpting or it might just be a Singapore sculptor doing his figures on a Monday morning after a weekend of “Tiger Beer”LOL.

  8. ERWIN says:

well that still is a mix up too, as it is a later post ww2 helmet..so I think is as Don mentioned and saw first is a wrong sculpting in the helmet that make it look more jap specially with those long blades in the M1,another detail not related but will like to bring the fact of NO beards and mustaches in ww2 faces, like every soldier shave every other day IN THE FIELD.LOL!!!. I had seen even in Germans countless photos of war time showing soldiers with non groomed faces, that should be considered too in every soldier, specially in campaign.
my analyses is base in the fact of every new company bringing new product should perform better if selling(“high quality expensive figures”).If is cheap and economic like AIP and most Chinese, I won’t ask ,but 7-10 figures for $28-34.00 !!!what about packing then in bags to reduce cost on those nice fancy cases too.

  9. Brian McIver says:

I wonder if anyone has a set of Barszo Mexican lancers from the Zorro playset for sale?
    Cheers, Brian.

  10. Christian Aldo says:

I’m happy to have late war French, but I would have rather have had early war French uniforms.

  11. Christian Aldo says:

I will buy every WWII set they release!

  12. I am looking for some Almark 1/32 figure kits. I am looking for 1 or 2 of the U.S. Infantry, one of the German Panzergrenadiers, and one of the Japanese Infantry.
These are like the Airfix Multipose kits. The figures are made from the Minimodel figures which were assembled and painted.
I remember getting some Minimodel Japanese from Stad years ago and was pleased with how cool they looked. (The Japanese getting shot is one of the best I have ever seen.) I didn’t know about Almark until I found part of a set at the Big-D show years back and saw that they looked like the Minimodel Japanese. I have found a few sets over the years and would like to get a few more.
