Safari People

I picked this set from Safari  up last year at hobby shop. I like getting civilian figures as it shows how our society has change. An example of this is having a black police officer.

What is more interesting is that you have three women in various occupations: airline pilot, veterinarian and post person.  These poses years ago would have been male figures. One could do a collection female figures showing how they changed from nurses and mothers to a wide range of occupations.

Safari has numerous Toob sets, and some larger individual figures. The 70mm US GIs are in Toobs now at Michaels. Also, several of the 70mm Roman figures are available. If you use a coupon these figures are a deal at around $1.40 each.

Were these the figures in bags, painted but cast in red and silver? The bags I had were marked ‘Stevens Hobbies’, but I’ve heard them called by several maker names. If it’s NOT them, I’d love to see a pic or two!

safari also distribute to many museums, zoo and schools stores all around, I had seen many set there too. The newest and old. Interesting fact is they do not follow a scale they go from 50mm to up 70 mm.Another new civilian set of modern figures just come out and the same distribution view of one posted by admin is seen .They are larger 60mm any ways.

Greg, they come in an long plastic clear cylinder tube about 10″ long by 3″, with the label and factory is safari ltd. Now some sets are being distributed by hobby suppliers such as Stevens and they may repacking then.If you happen to have a local fabric/craft store such as Michaels, or Jo-Ann ,search the toy/children area, they should carry as it is an official section for then in the school discovery educational isles. Some of the new sets such as roman, civilian and last American infantry had not been fully distributed to all stores.

Thanks, Erwin. I has always looked the local Michael’s, Hobby Lobby and Hobby Town USA. I’d even seen the US Infantry guys. I’ll be looking for these Romans! The guys I’m thinking of are pretty big and if they have a Pilum, it’s a separate piece. I’ll send you a pic.

safari new roman toob(tube) is more a roman life set figures with a cesar, woman, centurion, legionarie and others mix in.It is a new 2015 set but some hobby stores such as TSSD are offering as bonus in some playset at their site.

ok Greg, I think what you looking at is other figures from a different brand and sold on eBay, and other hobby retailers such as hobby bunker ,michingan, else.Stevens international distribute then too to those business.(brand is SUPREME). A local hobby store around maybe could order if place order from then by using this code number from Stevens(PYS 27) ROMANS 1/32 Roman SPQR Warriors Figure Playset (16 w/Shields, Weapons & 4 Horses) (Bagged).
But AS OFF NOW Stevens is out stock from them (the y are 60-65 mm scale) I did bough 40 sets and redistribute then to keep the most battle action poses, rest sold then out long ago.
