Timmee GI in Red

051

Over the years, we have shown you many different Timmee figures from Germany. These figures were done with permission from Timmee by a party in Germany.  The company did copies of the Timmee figures as well new poses and doing the knights in a smaller scale.  Here is an example of the Timmee GI figures done in a different color. The above figure is in a red  was very likely to be used as an enemy figure.

I just bought a set of Timmee pioneers, I assume they are re-casts that were on e-bay from someone or a Company called Victory Buy and apparently made by a Company J. Lloyd Internation Inc., they actually come in a Timmee Toys header bag, that read Backwoods Battle. All of the figures in the bag are a dark/chocolate brown and it includes the riding figures who look huge. The foot figures appear to be the usual size. Amazing is that of all the Timmee figures I have had over the years and they were quite a few, I only ever had the one riding pose.

It is amazing on how some poses escape our attention. I never saw the Lido wounded army figure until it pop up on Kent Sprecher’s site. It took another year to track one down.

Ed ;I can not recall what riding figures is this,in other words I may never saw it or not have at all!any pictures or link to this mounted pose.

If you do a search on seller, victorybuy , in e-bay, you can see a vague picture of the riding poses available from Timmee. Not the best picture, but enough to get the idea.

The molds of Timmee/Processed Plastic were sold at auction and most of the important ones were bought by a party in the states. Older molds went to companies in Mexico.

Thanks Admin for the information..I had seen the dinosaurs at target stores in this week, but not the rest this seller(victorybuy)mentioned by Ed on ebay sale now.Interesting about older molds to Mexico too…

Erwin, the Target dinosaurs are actually recasts in hardish plastic of dinosaurs made years ago by Ajax – here is a picture from ToysoldierHQ http://www.angelfire.com/biz/toysoldierhq/Ajaxjoy.html I bought some but was disappointed because a lot did not stand or seemed mismolded, i.e. three legs touching the ground and the third not – don’t know if they were always like that or just these versions

      • erwin says:

@Dan, so the one pinks and green dinosaurs in $1.00 bag at target are not time mee right!? As I did not buy then but just saw it and dropped back because look very poor quality clones. If are those please confirm .thank you..I appreciate your information/link

Erwin, the $1 Dinosaur bags that I have seen from Toysmith in the Target dollar section are definitely the Ajax recasts. As I said above, I was not impressed with the quality e.g. the four legs on my dimetrodons did not line up right. Also in Target are some $1 bags of My Little Ponyish unicorns or something – I have no idea where they originated. So far as I know, the only place to get the genuine Timmee/Processed Plastic recast dinosaurs from J.Lloyd is through VictoryBuy at Amazon. All the best!

    Paul,

Interestingly enough, I just picked up a wounded Lido GI on e-bay. I didn’t know they made one either until about year ago when I ran across one in a mixed lot. I didn’t know they made one, but when looking at him he was obviously a Lido.

    Erwin,

The company listed on the header bag is J Lloyd Internation Inc. , they claim to be made in the US.

  8. erwin says:

Thanks Ed for the update, interesting if anybody knows more about this factory or other out of states!.Yeah the made in USA is a not positive to me too!!

The Ajax dinos are pretty decent, especially the Ramphorychus (flyer). I think the ones in question are clones. I picked some up at a Dino-Sinclair gas station in, I think, KY. They seemed very close until I compared them. I’d seen clones in excellent colors, too. Details not too bad, except on the Triceratops, but a bit smaller.

    thanks Ed and Paul
