Trying to Catch Up on New Figure News

Trying to Catch Up on New Figure News, hello I am back. This past month has been a blur. I was at the Plastic Warrior Show in the UK where I got to see old friends, buy items for resale and the collection. I also got to do two car boots, a birthday party where I met two lords and a Yugoslavian princess, and a toy charity shop. At this last place, I encounter a drag queen Vivian, and Keith Lemon whoever he is.

Right now I need to catch up on some of the new offerings that have surfaced in the time I was off. first, I have the new offering from Replicants peasant figures. Next, Mars is showing a new offering for U.S. Marines. Finally, we have word from Scott of the Expeditionary Force.

Every Plastic Peter Cole of Replicants does a special set of figures to showcase at the show. This year Peter did two sets each of medieval peasants.

Scott also posted this There are huge changes in our company operating environment during the months of March and April 2023, caused mainly by the opening up of the China border for free travel in March 2023. The changes are quite substantial and I had to make up to 5 trips to China from Singapore over the same period. At my age, the travel fatigue is heavy and thus, I have only limited capacity to deal with the many operational issues. Inadvertently, there are delays during this period. I seek your kind understanding and indulgence. The difficult period is now past and I am slowly recovering from the fatigue.

    Heres Info on Keith Lemon
In his early career, Francis did a series of shorts for Comedy Central (then known as Paramount Comedy) called Stars in Their Houses. Some of the shorts can be found on YouTube.

His major television breakthrough occurred when Channel 4 offered him a £250,000 deal to produce a series based on his television characters, such as his previous roles as Bobby Stark and Barry Gibson, and in 2002, Bo’ Selecta! was born. The series featured Francis portraying a series of celebrities by wearing face masks to impersonate them, as well as portraying the main, non-celebrity character, Avid Merrion. The programme lasted for five series, airing between 2002 and 2006, however, the last two series were only loosely based on the original three. Series 4 was subtitled A Bear’s Tail, and was based on another of his characters, The Bear. Series 5 returned to Avid Merrion and was called Bo! in the USA.

Following the axing of Bo’ Selecta!, Francis took one of the series characters, Keith Lemon, and created a brand new show, Keith Lemon’s Very Brilliant World Tour, which aired on ITV2 in April 2008. The show was a success, and subsequently, Francis created another new show featuring Lemon, Celebrity Juice, which aired for 26 series between 2008 to 2022. Lemon also co-hosted Sing If You Can (2011) with Stacey Solomon and Keith Lemon’s LemonAid (2012) on ITV. In November 2011, it was revealed that Lemon would make his feature film debut in Keith Lemon: The Film, with production starting later that month.[6]

Francis has since presented and/or appeared in numerous other ITV2 programmes in character as Lemon, including Through the Keyhole (2013–2019), The Keith Lemon Sketch Show (2015–2016), The Keith & Paddy Picture Show (2017–2018), alongside Paddy McGuinness and Shopping with Keith Lemon (2019–present).[7] Francis had a cameo in Rocketman, the 2019 Elton John biopic, playing a shop worker named Pete.[

Mars Marine advancing with fixed bayonet sort of reminds me of the Marx/Lido advancing with fixed bayonet figure,he was always the last man to go down under a Banzai charge in the Back Garden battlefield after taking out a lot of the Enemy.

    Nince new addition .Looking forward.
Mars two MG are under/too short scale versus figures ,they should be bigger .

Me and my brother went to the Plastic Warrior show. We bought two sets of each of the Replicant medieval peasants. We also bought eight boxes of Mars figures from Peter Bergner and four boxes of Expeditionary Force French Napoleonic figures and the new Engineer Basevich ww1 mounted Germans. We also bought assorted other figures at the show. Wished it was on more than once a year. A great show to attended, good to see Peter Bergner at the show missed him at last years show.

  5. Everett Atwater says:

The replicants are not the most exciting, but those EXforce figures are perfect for what I am interested right now, and the marines are nice I guess, still not a huge fan of mars. Also, little men have some new Hawaiian figures, they are as usual very expensive though.

The pirates and Navy gun crew look great! I always like to see more sailors and pirates to man the ships.

The replicants woman in blue in the upper photo looks like she has a belaying pin! She reminds me of the woman chasing a pirate on the Pirates of the Caribbean Disneyland ride. The cleaver woman also looks deadly. Don’t mess with them! They could both work in scenarios up into the 1800s.
