Plastic Platoon has shown two future figures. The first figure is for a new series called Conquista. This looks like Mikhail will be doing a series on the Spanish invasions of the Americas.

The figure is shown in an Indian for a series called the battle on snowflakes. Its is part of a French and Indian War series.

Chicago Toy soldier show 2022

The Chicago Toy Soldier Show 2022 is set for Sunday, September 25th. This is the premier toy soldier show for the U.S. Besides the show on Sunday, many of the dealers who will be staying at the Hyatt Regency Schaumburg will have their rooms opened prior to the show. This is a fun part of this show. Not only you can find treasures you can sit in the rooms and talk with your fellow collectors. You can find out more about this show here.

One final item, I was asked if I would be going to the show this year. Sadly, the answer is no. This is due to dealing with some minor health issues plus my recovery from the accident. I hope to be there next year.

Intersting new addition.Looking forward fir Mike new Vikings.
The Indian with dog and one musket in one hand looks odd,no way you can hold such weapon by the way he has it .No realistic at all.
Admin ,you should take it easy and recover.
    My thoughts.

I am trying to relax. some days it is hard. I like Mike’s forge and may add to the collection later in the year.

    • TD Barnecut says:

I agree about the flintlock, the weight all distributed forward of where he holds it and these are not lightweight weapons, so kind of awkward. Also he appears to have his finger on the trigger but the flint is already down on the pan – so he has either just fired or will need his other hand to pull the flint back to firing position. 3-D imaging can lead to some oddly designed figures?

      • ERWIN SELL says:

I guess the artist got the idea or imagination from last version of Last of Mohican film ;in that is shown two characters running while firing muskets grabbing it in one hand ,obviously are light plastic props made for film ,no real heavy weapons.

  2. BRIAN says:

I think they meant to say “The Battle on the Snowshoes” when Rogers Rangers got into a scuffle with French Canadian & Natives in the French & Indian War.

  3. ERWIN SELL says:

Harold Finehair pose with hair waving with wind is peculiar unique ,nice pose and realistic .I think few figures in plastic had look in to such detail .More should be done as that ,specially ship crews if ever made .Well done !

  4. TD Barnecut says:

I think Harold Finehair (not to be confused with Larry Fine) is actually Harald Fairhair , the first King of Norway?

  5. James Nixon says:

On a different subject I see Britains super deetail are going to bring out ACW artillery crews with cannon they look great. You can see them on the hobby bunker forum.

    • TD Barnecut says:

Had a peek at Hobby Bunker. The artillery looks good! Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think the Parrot’s and ordnance rifled Cannon were Federal weapons almost exclusively. They need to make some Napoleons for the rebel crews.

  6. Tom Black says:

I read about the Britain’s Deetail Artillery sets in the Toy Soldier Collector Magazine last week and was surprised that their was no mention of it on any of the online plastic Toy Soldier forums or blogs. Thought that Deetail being back after 50 yrs would be big news. The article said there will more to come from the Deetail line.

  7. TD Barnecut says:

Maybe Britains realized there is still a demand for the Deetail figures. Isn’t there an outfit in Argentina producing Deetail type figures? And the original Deetail figures are actively sold and traded online.

    • admin says:

The company in Argentina is DSG. They have reworked the Deetail molds to be other things. Britains realized it needs new items as the Civil War is popular. If anyone goes to Chicago they could talk to them there.

  8. Tom Black says:

I would like to see some continuation of the Deetail Medieval line. Back in the day they had plenty of Knights but not so much Archers and Crossbowman.

    • admin says:

Tom, let’s wait and see what we hear from the show. I am figuring besides the artillery sets they will be doing more civil war figures. We will see.

  9. Tom Black says:

Your probably right about the ACW. The artillery sets were a good choice by Britain’s and I will get a set but to continue with the ACW would be an overly conservative move by Britain’s IMHO. Just about every plastics maker has a set of Infantry. Every pose imaginable has been done. Speira Miniatures has an extensive line of ACW with just about every pose, casualty, civilian, Zouves, Cavalry… The only thing needed in ACW is Naval artillery and crews and Naval landing party but we probably won’t see them done.
How about this for dreaming: the full set of “modern”UK infantry done in the early 70’s but 4 poses that were quickly taken off the market. The Cold War is an untapped market in plastics.

  10. Mark McNamara says:

    Amazing figures !
