Odds Ends Old New Stuff LOD Enterprises

Odds Ends Old New Stuff LOD Enterprises we close out June with figure news. LOD Enterprises has reissued some Barzso Buildings and is showing future items from their Trojan War line. Rahway has sent additional information on Expeditionary Force. Rahway has also clued me into Mars showing painted versions of some of their figures.

Note, we are fine. I have not been posting much lately as I have other things to do. One of those other things was finally updating this computer to Windows 10. I just hate to update things. Next month I have to join Ebay’s Management Payments, which can’t wait to see how that foul up things.

Odds Ends Old New Stuff
Ken Chiak has announced a number of items coming out of his company. first up, Ken is reissuing some foam medieval buildings done by Barzso Collectibles. They are small and large stone cottages, the small house, and the tavern. These will be welcome additions to any scene.
LOD TROJAN
Ken has also preview new additions to his Trojan War Line. They are four more Amazon female warriors and two-character figures Ajax and Aeneas
Ajax and Aeneas
I really like the Ajax and Aeneas figures. I feel they will go well with the Conte Spartans.
Amazon warriors
The Amazon warriors will be two mounted and two-foot figures. The mounted poses are with ax and shield and with a sword. The foot poses are charging with spear and kneeling firing bow. these figures will be out later this year.

Expeditionary Force Update

Japanese machine gun
Rahway sent us the Consumer part of the Expeditionary Force release on the Early Germans. For some reason, I did not get pictures of the armed peasants. Still, I wanted to get to you the dates of the upcoming releases.
The current plan is to release the medieval armed peasants in August 2020, after the 95th riflemen before starting the WW2 Japanese sets in September.
Heads (plus hood-cape) and arms are all interchangeable. We will expand the medieval range with supplementary sets for scots schiltrons (highland dress), swiss halberdiers, Spanish almogavars, and men-at-arms in chain-mails (horse & foot). In due course, we will do the Non-European armies of Mongols and such.

  1. I too will be force by Ebay to use their managed Payments by July 15……Everytime they change things it makes it harder to use Ebay and get reports that actually help me sell and/or costs me more money and time.

I’ve mentioned before I sold some extra figures on Ebay, I guess it was some fifteen years ago. Back then it was pretty simple. I registered a credit card with them, did the transaction, they deducted their fees from the credit card. I got paid by Money Order, as I recall. I think PayPal wasn’t even around yet (So it might have been more than fifteen years ago; since I stopped moving around in the Army the years kind of flow together). Real simple. I didn’t mind paying Ebay its percentage because after all, they did provide the market.

For the past couple years I’ve considered selling some of the backlog of figure sets sitting on shelves and in my closet I know I’ll never get around to. But every time I go nosing around Ebay to look into selling I am put off by all the fees and hoops it seems you have to jump through to sell. My own take is it’s gouging. I am willing to pay a fair fee for the benefit of the marketplace but I don’t want to give my stuff away or have the majority of my profit taken up by fees. JMO

IT’s too bad toy soldier collectors and sellers can’t set up their own selling marketplace–or even advertise somewhere and someone could email and set something up. It’s a hassle to set up one’s own website, esp if you are not a regular seller.
      Any ideas?

BTW: Great news on the new offerings from LOD.

I won’t bother selling on eBay anymore. The fees make it impossible for you to offer a good deal and still make any money. It’s appears obvious to me they are just looking to squeeze more out of you and now there are more States demanding you pay tax. The vultures have gathered around for the feeding.
