Baldwins’ Chicago Find One Replicant

Baldwins’ Chicago Find One, Alex and Charlie Balwin share with us the items they got at the recent Chicago Toy Soldier Show. I will let Alex explain his and his brother’s finds.

Baldwins’ Chicago Find One Napoleonic

Baldwins' Chicago Find One Napoleonic
These are Napoleonic finds that Charlie got at the show.  In the background are Expeditionary Force Napoleonic sets (Hussars, Lifeguards, Dragoons and Scots Greys)
Napoleonic figures
Charlie already had two sets of each but got the third and final set of each from Rick Berry (Michtoy).  He also got a couple of sets of Expeditionary Force Grenadiers which he plans to use as Coldstream Guard.
Look at the scene
The green figures in the middle are Barzso British Light Infantry in Green (a rare color).  He got these from Ed Borris.  Lastly, we have some Conte Shako Mexicans (which Charlie uses as Young Guard).  We got these on the blister for a very reasonable price from Hobby Bunker.

Zulu War

Baldwin's Chicago Find One Napoleonic
Charlie and I have been gearing up to recreate Islandwana and these are Zulu war figures we got at the show.
Zulu War
Among them, British Royal Marines in Blue and several sets of Unmarried Zulus and Zulus in regalia (bought from Michtoy).
Another Look
You will notice that the rest of the figures are Call to Arms Zulus.  When we find the early production (soft plastic) Zulus, we use them for their intended purpose (got 4 sets from Mike Kutnick).  The darker and more brittle Zulus we give red detailing and red bases to.
Zulu War
We use these as Natal Native Contingent to supplement the
Ex Force (BMC Buffalo soldiers painted brown also work pretty well).

Replicant Texas Rangers

Replicants Texas Rangers
These are the new Replicants Texas Rangers and Commanches.   The figures are really awesome and anyone interested in that period should definitely pick them up
Closer look
Charlie also found some loose Barzso and Conte figures to supplement the scene.

I like the poses of the Replicants shooting behind the downed horse. Nice pick ups. The XForce British Napoleonics are on my list for a Battle of New Orleans set up.
