I got this figure a few years ago at either Plastic Warrior Show or Grey’s Mews. Grey’s Mews is a antique dealer center in the Mayfair area of London. When I saw the figure  I knew I had to have it as it was of Cochise from Broken Arrow. The television show was on two seasons and starred Michael Ansara.  The question was who made it.  I feel it was a mold from the United States. Problem I have not seen it over here. Was the figure never made there for some reason.  A mystery to solve also to find who made in the UK.

Reamsa made so many different figures. Here we have two versions of the 65mm trappers. The figure on the left is a latter issue of the figure. The one on the right is the original painting. These figures have been an interesting search to find.

We will look at some figures from Germany starting Merten.  Merten did a number of western figures. On the left we have an Indian chief with a scalp.  The cowboy has a nice wide hat.  I first got a couple as a child in place called Teepee Town. they got damage and I replaced them as an adult.

The figure on the left is a Plasty swoppet. This figure went with a gondola of another company. It may have been sold other ways.  The other figure is a carnaveral figure.  These figures are sold by various towns to help payfor the festives.  The figure originally had a metal straight pin which was removed.  I like the pose.

I did a small train show last week. The show can be a hit or miss. This time it was not exicting. I spent $3.00 on the figures above. The Marx bride and groom I will put with other 30mm figures. Likewise the 45mm pioneer will be put with some other figures.  The construction figure and farm hand I will keep. The pirate I will give to a friend in the UK.

I can not wait until the weather is better so I can get to some flea markets.

The Pirates are from Target set poses i think ,i got like 6 different ..i will have check…
I had seen the Cochise figure listed in Ebay before as under Tudor or Poplar by a seller ,but not idea of course, that was the seller description given.
The Reamsa painted figure looks not painted in traditional paint used by Reamsa ..
The pink/ red variation are from 80s and possible from Mexico and Argentina later distribution by Gomarsa. They were made in those colors as specific party/fiesta colors given and sold in bags with few poses only mix in not match set.
    My thoughts..

  2. Brian Johnson says:

The Chief looks more like he cut the tail off his horse than taking a scalp,LOL.

  3. Mark McNamara says:

Merten did some nice figures ,especially like the American War between the states figures !

  4. Steve Weston says:

Cochise figure:Either POPULAR Plastics or Tudor Rose – my guess is that they shared molds. This figure was part of a set that contained a wagon, stage coach, mounted cowboy, mounted cavalay man with binoculars, Cochise and another Indian chief with warlance. May also have contained a 3rd indian with bow.

I will supply photos of mine as soon as ! can get to the cabinet.
