Catching Up On Things: Figure News Other Things

Catching Up On Things: Figure News Other Things I have a few items to do before the year ends.  First Erwin has some additions being added to Bordeaux Tapestry flat figure line. Next Erwin send us copies of the Pech Hermanos catalog showing their pirates.  I have a few photos to share.

Erwin Sell has this information from Russia.  Mounteded Normans and Archer for William’s army have been added. These figures are from the same maker.

It  is very important noticed that according to historical few records it was the Norman cavalry that broke the Harold army at battle.

Archers were used, but their use was of not much effect. This was because of the types of bows used. later adopted by Normans Welsh -English longbows. The new figures poses are very important to be made for this battle because of that. I like this set as represent with plastic soldiers one of oldest only few recorded in art battles and longest as well  battle tapestry conserved made just few years after actual battle.  A curious collection not quite for collectors of toy soldiers but more as a souvenir in my opinion.
my thoughts.
Pictures are credit and send by good friend Alex from Russia.

Erwin sent us photos of the Pech Hermanos catalog.

You can see the 12 different poses of the pirates plus the raft. As mention by Brian Carrick and myself the pirate with a wire is to have a pirate flad. Some of the Pech Hermanos pirates were reissued by Bum.

Here is the red Marx 54mm GI figures that Henry has been talking about.  Do you have any idea where they were used.

Finally Henry  shows us the various color variations he has of Marx and Processed Plastic.

We have already talked about the Hasbro soldiers.  I am putting this photo up for cannon.  Once again this one of my junk box find. The person took about a half dozen cannons and for some reason merged modern cannon to a Revolutionary carriage. It makes you wonder why?

Catching Up On Things: Figure News Other ThingsMarx Lifeguards  is one of those sets you wonder why Marx made.

A number of the Britains Roman for the chariot showed up 30 years ago. People got them and made bases.  You can still find them once and awhile.

    Sorry I need correct above.
    It should read as…
(It was because bows used were not the longest weslsh bows later adopted by Normans.)

  2. Tom Black says:

There are a few figures in the photos of the red Marx that are hard to see. On the left there seems to be a few non-Marx?

    • Henry Paas says:

everything in the photo is either tim mee gi’s or marx gi’s in the backrow i put my marching tim mee next to my marching marx figure the rest are tim mee figures next to my deuce and a half truly the creme de le creme of my collection in this photo

  3. Len Hardt says:

Speaking of “catching up on things,” did anyone see Nick’s “Coming Attractions” page that reveals a photo of new WW 2 Germans. There are no details yet, but they look like EB figures. Then again, maybe I’m out of it and this is old news.

  4. Daniel Murphy says:

MARS seems like a good bet for the maker – I’ll be interested to find out. What are the soldiers wearing? Are they camo smocks?

  5. Bobby G. Moore says:

Wonder if there will be a set, (or sets), of opposing figures for them to fight. Not too bad looking. Wish they would make an advancing MG team. It gets a little repeatitive to have all these MG gunners firing from the waist.

  6. Mark T. says:

Warhansa now has a set of 5 flat 54mm Russians and one German. The weapons are much, much better than on the 3d German Falschirmjaegers. There’s also a set of flat Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth figures that extremely well detailed.

If only these sets were full 3d figures. They are much nicer than any other Warhansa set to date.

  7. Mars is the maker of the WWII Germans

    • Mark T. says:

The Mars German officer is a great figure. The rest of the figures seem kind of lackluster and remind me most of the old Dulcop Germans. Not bad figures by any means, but they are far behind almost all other WW2 German sets made in the last couple of decades. They suffer by comparison with Conte, TSSD & CTS. I might get them to pad out my WW2 Germans, but I wish they didn’t have that computer clone printed look. I also wish at least one was wearing an M43 cap.

  8. Wayne W says:

For the quality and price I know they’ll be asking I think I’ll pass on this one. If they even had more than one fairly original pose it might be worth the price. I guess if I want to add to my Wehrmacht ranks I’ll just pop for some more TSSD or catch some old Conte’s. JMO.
