Garage Sale

As I mention in Odds and Ends my very good friend Les and I were going to do an indoor garage sale today. We arrived about half hour after the show opened. The garage sale had every table filled so Les and I split headed in different directions. I did my usual walk around of the show and found a new dealer who had some movie song sheets and a couple of Marx Tvkins in the bag. The bag has at least one Tvkin perfect with other figures damage. The dealer had a good price so I got three bags.  I walked around  and saw some other plastic figures with dealers I had seen before. One dealer had an Auburn armor car at $15.00. I then found a dealer with bags of plastic figures. I asked the dealer the price of the bags. The dealer said they were various prices. Les heard the dealer’s comment and said to me be glad you are not wearing a three piece suit the price would be sky high. I sort agreed in my mind with Les  but still some of the bags.. I picked out five bags, there was nothing rare or unusual. The best piece was a Marx hard plastic damaged baseball figure. I placed the bags before the dealer and waited for the price.  The dealer said fifty dollars. I replied for fifty dollars you can keep them and walked away. The price was twice what I was willing to pay and I even had reservations at that price I was thinking based on quality and type of figures.

I walked around one more time and found a large Captain Video figure. I suggested to Les of going to another flea market as he was looking for some doll stands for some Gone with the Wind dolls he has. We went out to the flea market and found that they had a number of dealers outside.  Les and I walked around and it was interesting some dealers were offering very reasonable prices. I was able to get an Arco Noah’s Ark slightly damaged and Noah’s ark with pewter figures.  We went into the inside flea market and I found Gay Toys Barn. Les did not find his doll stands or anything else. Last week he had found some old pendants for various regional amusement parks some that are no longer around.
