U. S. Toys

I was able to get two of the three new U.S. Toy new figures sets police and western. Each set contain 12 figures in 6 different poses. The police set is interesting as you have two Swat figures one with a battering ram, the other with a shield. I have other Swat figures in the collection which are armed with weapons, but none with a battering ram. The three other policemen are in non threating poses. The police officer directing traffic is with a orange vest, which is a sign of the times that they need to have a reflective piece on as the drivers are not as attentive these days. The last figure is a police woman firing pistol, which is out of the norm for this company. They usually do non-violent poses. U.S.Toys did the figure with out a hat which makes this figure ripe for conversion.

The westen set continues the tradition of non-violent poses. The two cowboys have their guns out but not pointing. The Indian chief is standing with an under size bow. What is very interesting of the group is we have an Indian woman with a weapon. It is the first time I can remember an Indian woman figure with a weapon in her hands. The set is rounded out by an Indian woman sitting and western woman standing with a holstered gun.

Come on, Stad. I check your website everday to get my fix on toy soldier news and gossip. Let’s have more frequent postings! I like reading your opinions, thoughts, and accounts of your trips to flea markets and garage sales. I still really miss your written newsletter from years ago where I could read ” Comment Time” every two weeks. Now all I get is “Playset Magazine” every two MONTHS.

      Don
I would love to post more but the workload I have is a killer. Between, Ebay, the human job, the book project etc. I do not know which way is up sometimes. I have to make time to watch some tv shows. We are big fans of the storage wars shows, big bang and the simpsons. The hobby has been slow lately. The weather has been too cold to hit a Wednesday flea market. I hope to do a toy show next Saturday in Maryland if the weather is good. Then after that is a toy show in the Philadelphia area. Likewise if the weather is good.

Yes, I can imagine a book project would take up a considerable amount of time. I think a nice memoir of your life has the potential to make for an interesting read. And don’t hold back, Paul — be sure to tell us what you really think! LOL. And at least you’ve got a couple of toy shows scheduled in the near future. My own next one is the Indiana Toy Soldier Show the last week of March. It bills itself as “the Midwest’s Second largest show”, and really is a good plastic soldier show with lots of dealers from all over. It’s being held at a new location in Indianapolis this year — in the Marriot Inn — and my wife and I already have our reservations. Barzsos, Marx-Man, Rick Eber, and Rusty Kern are always there. My enthusiasm is building just writing this.

The book is sword and socercery book. It is something I have been working on for at least two years on the side. It is part of series I hope people will enjoy. I will do as an E book. Once it goes up on the book site, I will put a sample chapter up.
A book on my life LOL. It will have to wait until I became famous outside the toy world. I will try to do more posting in the coming weeks. I will take some of your thoughts under advisement.
