Peter Bergner Finds

Part Two Friends' Finds
We first start off with items that are going into Peter’s collection. On the top row are four of the 7 Airfix space warriors. In the middle row beside the Airfix German officer, you have several swoppet spacemen. these figures are very likely from Hong Kong and were used as spacemen or deep sea divers. The soldier to the left is from Belgium and by Solido. The big green figure is a larger version of one of the Processed Plastic Galway Lazer Tem. According to Kent Sprecher, the larger figures were put out in 1979. The bottom row has Lido and Thomas Toys done in Europe by companies who leased the molds. I have no idea about German flamethrower.
Part Two Friends' Finds Britains Deetail
The upper bin has Britains Deetail Space figures. The blue Box Mobile Combat Tem ha an interesting mix. of figures and vehicles
Britains space vehicles

The swoppet spacemen look like Cherilea.

They may be Cherilea, I will have to check with Peter.

The divers or spacemen as they were sold as both are in many variation colors and tank weapons bases plus different style helmets heads. While poses are same in most.
While there some mark Cherilea there others in different bases and w other minor differences are by Marx and other simple HK stamp bellow with no difference in size among then I have several blister mint cards of all three made .
There also later copies in smaller scale and I have those as well.
There is one box I have and send photos over year ago to admin that says Made by cherilea for Marx in HK in wordings all over pack
It is very rare case packing. What I’m inclined to think is that originally were designed x Cherilea in HK and during UK purchase of Marx they sold then under UK Marx packing as well and because made in HK and mold stay there were later sold generic HK packed with different bases or else. The scale ,style and body shape resemble those of Cherilea swopet line tall scale later peoduction and none of Marx designs.
      my thoughts.

    Hello,

The White figures are PRB from Italy and not Solido from Belgium

Thanks for the correction, I will correct it. The problem is when I get some photos I have to guess on the figures.

I loved the Airfix 1/32 scale Napoleonics. I always wished they’d redo their 1/72 scale Nappies (and their ACW and US Cavalry) sets to match their 1/32 scale sets as they did many of their other sets. I guess they never saw the point.

I also hated that they did them in gray for the painters. I’ve never been able to bring myself to paint those guys though. ‘Just bought “recasts” or new issues in “correct” colors.
