Matt Dillon

IMGP6936Our friend Denitz from Russia got this figure.  It is collector painted and it has Matt Dillon on the bottom. This is Marx Matt Dillon from the Gunsmoke playset.  It is cream. The question is it mismolded  or has it been converted. What are you thoughts?

    I’d say mismolded. Looks like he painted him to be Emitt Kelly in the face anyway. Too bad, what is old Matt selling for these days, about $400.00?

    Strip the paint, dunk him on boiling water and re-position his limbs and he’s back to being Marshall Dillon.

    Yeah that will work if he doesn’t have some bubble or hump on his back. Something must have been him be deformed looking like that.

    If he were mine, I do what I said and straighten him out as best I could. Then I would slice the hump down as far as possible with a single edged razor blade until it resembled the back of the vest. You could then smooth it out with Green Stuff or any putty and paint it. I think that would work and make it passable.
    Hey, you can only see one side at a time anyway.
    Face front.

    By the way, it’s refreshing to see different people contributing pix and posts. Keep it going. It’s just makes the site better if everyone chips in. Right, Paul?

    Yeah that would work for your own collection, it would hurt resale though, considerably. If you don’t care about resale value give a shot and you’ll have a decent Matt Dillon.
