Expeditionary Force War of 1812 Regiments Troop

54mm Scott’s Brigade (Infantry in roundabout jacket) = 54 AMR 05

The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. The heads and arms are interchangeable with other box sets within the range to enable the assembly of much more different action poses. The models are designed around two tactical scenarios: (i) advancing into combat and (ii) defending/firing line.

The roundabout jacket also referred to as the shell jacket in the British Army or stable jacket in the cavalry regiments, was issued to the regular troops around 1800 and was meant to be used for fatigue duties. For battle actions and parade, the coatee was to be worn.

During the War of 1812, the soldiers of Scott’s Brigade were called into action when their formal uniforms have not been supplied and thus the soldiers went into action in roundabout jackets. Their subsequent battle performance established their reputation and also that of their roundabout jacket.

Colonial Marines

54mm British Colonial Marines (Black men) = 54 CND 07

The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 8 infantrymen. Except for the officer model, the other models are the same as the previous box-set, except for the headwear.

The Colonial Marines (Black men) were recruited from freed slaves by the British Navy during the War of 1812. They were engaged in combat at the southern theatre of operations including Baltimore and Washington and were reported to have performed well.

This box-set is a simple extension of the Scott’s Brigade for the purpose of adding colors to the range.

54mm Canadian Militia (Infantry) = 54 CND 01
The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 sergeant and 8 infantrymen. This set is converted from an existing set, 54 BRT 01 (British Line Infantry, Centre Company), by having the soldiers wearing the plumed Top-Hat popular among soldiers serving outside Europe.

The release of this set is to provide opponents for the American soldiers in the 1812 war, i.e. to complete the range. Soldiers in this uniform can also be used for British actions in India and Egypt.

There are still a few options for the Infantry in roundabout models which can be extended to cover the Alamo scenario but the required models to assemble the sets are not complete at this point. Their release will be made at a later date, in a few month’s time.

All nice looking and great addition .The British 1812-1815 will have plenty use in others if well painted .With British WW2 by just changing heads you can do pretty much all British Empire soldiers from many countries ,included several native armies such Indians as most wore almost same uniform and footwear plus weapons .I like the representation of Thompson M1928A1 but will be great if made with early m1928 as otherwise the soldiers historical can be used for early 1943 and after only .So for Africa campaign ,Greece ,Crete and 1941-early 1943 Asian campaign won’t be good .
British were the main user of early M1928 models in mass in any army as in US army most used the later models m1928A1 and others .
Also the uniform depicted is not early type as far I ese. They looks like a mix of 1940 and 1942 Pattern Battledress. EXF are nice figures but their body mass index are super thick often making blending with many other makers difficult, these show very muscular arms body so far in the WW2 figures ,while nice looking not quite realistic when looking at historical way as we pay high price x these figures ,otherwise are super well done .
    my thoughts
