Odds Ends New Submission Airfix Releases

Odds Ends New Submission Airfix Releases, we have a new submission from Gary DiBello. Gary is from my old list days and he had a question on a figure. Next Rahway alert me on Airfix going to release some of their 1/32 scale World War Two line. Third, I share some Publius figures I don’t remember if I share before or not.

Odds Ends New Submission Gary DiBello

Odds Ends New Submission Airfix Releases
As I mentioned in the introduction we got the new submission from Gary DiBello. Gary had been one of the many people who got my lists. For those who wonder what the list days are, they are when I use to send out paper lists. The lists were before the internet. Gary sent the above photo. He had a question about the cowboy on the left. It is marked Hong Kong. I recognized it immediately as a copy of a Jean Hoefler Cowboy. Jean Hoefler made twenty different cowboy figures.

The other figures in the photo beside the Marx pioneer woman are by Timmee. The Timmee cowgirls are a little harder to find. We hope Gary will share more in the future.

Did I Post These Figures?

Publius Persians
Publius Greeks
It has finally happened. I don’t remember if I posted these figures? There are just too many companies producing figures right now. Who knows how many new figures will be produced this year?

Speira horses and Mules

I am seeing more and more people using Speira miniatures. Not only for their existing figures, but also new figures. One collector is working with them to make horses and mules. The mules will a welcome addition to many scenarios. We will post more as we get information.

I know many may love have more Airfix but to me they had been recast reissues so many time with exception of the never again reissues set such Italian as mold damage and few others .The same sets they mention will be recast again were same recast last time I believe and unless they recast them in soft plastic and not the brittle stiff plastic used last time they won’t sale much too .So to me Airfix vintage and recast are as easy/cheap to find in shows as loose figures or bags in pile boxes often as many others ,same goes x Napoleonic .Harder to get at low prices are the US cavalry and western figures ,yet not hard get either at descent prices at shows or ebay at all time
    Same goes off eBay .
I believe JH western cowboys are 28 poses not counting the semi flat set 6 poses and swoppet western figures poses set .The 28 poses are 20 foot and 8 mounted poses but there others poses I think as well .Indians are about same with the seating camp and canoe poses as extras .
    my thoughts
    best

Hi Paul, et al. Any word if Airfix will re-issue the Multi-pose sets? Is this a comeback for them?

  3. oif-retread says:

Paul, your lists were one of the first resources i relied on when i got back into toy soldier collecting. i do miss them, but i was never able to get the best items; by the time it reached me here in california, all of the really neat stuff was long gone.

but i still managed to pick up a lot of great stuff from you. between you, the guys on the old marx newsgroup, and that toy newspaper (can’t remember the name, but it was full of vendors and ads) i have managed to recreate my childhood.

The magazine was Toy Shop. It was produced by Krause Publications. I always had problems shipping the list so everyone could get at the same time.

  4. Randy Dittmar says:

Speira made 4 1/30 scale WW1 Holt 75 Artillery Tractors for me.Very reasonable.

And Victorian civilians /C/W-WIA/KIAs,trying to get 90+ poses (Civil War) in
puttees for 1918 France. We shall see if cost inducive.

  5. james nixon says:

Who made the tan coloured set of eight ancients. They look like bi-plant figures to me.

  6. Mark T. says:

Any word on the plastic for this Airfix release? I need the British Infantry and I could use some more Germans as I lost my officer, but I will NOT buy that brittle crappy resin they made the last release in. I hope they are good old-fashioned soft plastic.

  7. Ray McCarty says:

Hey Paul! It’s been a long time. Are there any groups where us old timers can get together? I am getting into one area (WWII) after selling off my collection years ago.
