Plastic Figure Showcase New Figures Perry Miniatures

Plastic Figure Showcase New Figures Perry Miniatures
Perry Miniatures is a company that is own by sculptors Alan and Michael Perry. They have done a series of 28mm figures. The latest figures are Prussians for the Franco Prussian War. The boxes have four choices of heads wearing 1867 and 1860 headgear. I wish these figures were at 54mm.

Plastic Figure Showcase New Figures Speira Miniatures

Speira Indian
Rahway clued me in that Speira Miniatures has a new series of figures 18th Century. This series has 25 different items including Indians, French infantry, and French howitzer. Speira Miniatures also does commissions as I have seen they did Mexican infantry for two collectors. This company is one you should checkout.

Collection Time

Peco Blackbeard
When I had this figure when I was a child I call Captain Winchester. That was because I could put to MPC Winchester in his hand. As I got older and was able to read I found who he was really Blackbeard. Peco made four different pirates. They are Blackbeard, Long John Silver, Morgan, and Captain Kidd. It is hard to find the figures with accessories.
Fortnite figure
I am always on the lookout for figures to use in my stories. I picked up this last year from the Fortnite Battle Royale Collection. It was the only one in the small selection I was looking at. Is there one you like?

USPS is getting to be like weather predicting: sometimes they get it right; sometimes wrong; no surprise either way, and lost packages are NEVER THEIR FAULT!!!! LOL!!
Just NEVER trust them to deliver any critical medication you may need. They say it’s
“on time” if they get it to you within a few weeks!!!! Don’t know how they stay in business.

Franco Prussian War had been neglected in the 1/32 to 1/30 scale range in any scale plastic production with rare exception of some kits .Only AIP made an intent by re- using former 1914 Germans and FFL as foes in basic colors but not quite correct at all .While some of cavalry AIP sets made x CRIMEA war campaign and the AIP Russians and Germans Napoleonic militia flat caps made set can be used for that war again not correct sets had been made .
This war was very short ,yet it was very intense-bloody and the use of new modern innovative weapon’ and tactic in large scale were set as example for modernizing the new armies of world .Also the Commune of Paris or first large communist violent intent of take power and failed war that followed could be well represented by using the same soldiers of French army. Same way the same French soldiers can be used in the late French colonial wars and Mexican French war 1861-1867 and Germans as well for the Second Schleswig War 1864 and the Austro-Prussian War 1866 . So the soldiers made for one war can cover several very well as were in the same period using exact same type uniforms-weapons or almost same .It is my understanding EXF will cover this war in future . Hope they will .
    my thought

USPS “News Flash”: Finally received a “2 Day Priority Mail” package from Ohio to Connecticut that arrived in TEN DAYS!!!! Received buy USPS on 1/4 and Out For Delivery on 1/13. Uhhhh, they STILL CHARGE for 2 day delivery though. Wonder how long First Class would take? FedEx: on time or early, UPS: on time, DHL: on time or early, USPS 2 Day Priority: TEN DAYS!!!! I guess the others are immune from COVID? Sorry, but USPS continues to be a joke with COVID as oly the LATEST excuse.

    • AJ says:

      only, that is…. not “oly”..

      • ERWIN SELL says:

I was wonder if we can claim the money on USPS as it suppose to be “guarantee”!!?OR money back if not delivery on time!?

Every day I mail something I had to post this to every body in order to protect myself a bit .I encourage every dealer seller do same

I suppose you could collect the difference between “Priority” and “1st Class”, but is the aggravation worth it?? plus, I’m sure they’ll list some kind of exemption clause due to the “pandemic crisis”. USPS is a quasi government agency which is a GUARANTEE of inefficiency!! Look at Congress!! This is their little brother. On October 20, 2020, I purchased an item on Etsy with “free shipping”, unaware it was from Pakistan. Believe it or not, it arrived via DHL in SIX DAYS!!!! Here is USPS delivering a PRIORITY MAIL package from Ohio to CT in TEN DAYS!! And it’s NEVER their fault!!
I am at the point where I will NOT buy anything from overseas or the West Coast, and now, even Ohio is a problem. I’ve had these USPS clowns send a parcel from Jersey City, NJ to LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA who sent it BACK to Jersey City, NJ who, after it sat for a day, sent it to Springfield, MA and then down to CT. Derby, CT is If they’re using LA as a short cut from NJ to CT, no wonder they lose money!!!! Jersey City top Derby is 81 miles!!!

          • ERWIN SELL says:

Yes DHL is only no affected ,EXF uses it too .Regarding claim money i thing is best to the sellers as they ship trying get fast to customers in case is a lot packing they can claim a lot .
So far the only message in USPS and even during mailing printing is this in this link main page that says not quite any about they can not be responsible x delays in priority mail .But until I get any series complain I won’t waste time .

            https://tools.usps.com/go/TrackConfirmAction_input

I had one pack stock 30 miles from me inside one other city USPS facility x 4 days now and is priority mail .Ridiculous but out of their hands .USPS has not money and scrapping to get people in field .
Eventually it will become private as happen in may mail services in the world .

  6. AJ says:

Private companies like FedEx, DHL, UPS, and even Amazon are THRIVING in the pandemic. ONLY, USPS, the government can’t get it done. What does that tell us for the bigger picture? And now, they’re screwing up vaccine distribution…….

I don’t know if I mentioned this elsewhere, but I’m fighting UPS right now over a Christmas present we shipped out on December 18th. It was supposed to get there Christmas Eve – one of the reasons we shipped UPS instead of USPS it was late getting out.

I went online and did the at-home labeling so all I’d have to do is box the thing off and drop it off at the UPS store instead of waiting in line for hours to get it all done at the store. I’d done this before with no hitch.

Last week we found out the package hadn’t arrived yet. I put in a trace and had a heck of a time getting through the computer voices to get an answer. I got caught in a loop that kept sending me back to the same place over and over again. Finally I called the store where we dropped it off an they told me because I did it online they really couldn’t track it for me, but one guy was helpful and told me if at a certain point in the spiel if I hit zero twice it would get me to a human being.

So the human being was able to find out my package made it all the way to Montgomery, AL (70 miles away) where it dropped off the map. I was able to find that out online without help. So I was told by the human being he/she (I went through this twice) send me an e-mail so I could start a claim.

I waited. No e-mail. So after sitting through the weekend I started again Monday. Finally got through to the Help Chat Center (or whatever they call it) where the person pointed me to a link to start a claim. I got caught in a catch-22 there because they were asking me for information I didn’t have on my online receipt for the package. So I went back to the helpchat and explained the paradox. The fellow explained what the problem was and said he would go ahead and start the claim from his end.

Yesterday I finally received an e-mail informing me my claim was in process. What a nightmare.

I’ve never fared well with UPS myself and have used it only as a last resort. When I was in North Carolina they dropped a Christmas package from home on my front porch that got stolen; I didn’t realize it happened for a month when my folks asked me if I enjoyed the study Bible they’d sent me. By then I was told it was too late to file a complaint (what I was told). I shrugged my shoulders and figured the guy who stole the package probably needed the contents more than I. My folks finally did get reimbursed. But the hassle.

We’ve had that problem here, from packages being left in the rain and getting wet, to being left at the wrong address.

I thought I’d solved the problem when our postmaster told us we could have packages delivered to our Post Office Box if we filled out a form. I thought that was more secure and convenient than figuring out where UPS had dropped the last package. Even that has been a hassle.

Amazon has started doing its own deliveries now. They opened up a center in the next town. They deliver at all hours. We’ve had to meet drivers at the Post Office or even the convenience store in town because the PO was closed when they went to drop it off. One time they tried to deliver a package at the elementary school next door to the PO. I don’t know what might have happened had my daughter-in-law not been working there that day and the school secretary recognized my name and called her in.

    Don’t ya love it?

  8. AJ says:

My personal mail man is a GREAT guy, but the local PO from manager on down are worthless and nasty people. UPS is only as good as the driver and if the guy on your route is a jerk, good night. This reminds me of a story I saw on the news about a FedEx driver who was stealing packages. They finally caught him with a storage shed full of stolen stuff. The latest is Amazon using drones to fly packages to your door. Something tells me this will NOT end well……………………

  9. ERWIN SELL says:

Yes Amazon got town or areas delivery service but only by those using amazon purchase .so no eBay connection .Walmart partner with amazon x their delivery often .
I agree in drones been a future and a future -issue too
The drones got OK by the laws and FFA approval recently but the FAA is set to roll out a final set of drone rules in 2024,so will take some years before fully implemented as they have to create school of drone -“Deliver pilots’ who will flight them, invest in Drone facilities with qualify repair centers x them .Them we will have the legal battles of violation privacy ,drones been shot down at all time and so on plus ..
drones been tested in US by few minor companies doing delivery during pandemic with mix results .There plenty areas where many machines suffer with interference and else ..so we will see .Yet I still have not doubt it will be the future of delivery .
For now we have to seat and see. USPS is planning along with UPS and FedEx increase the cost shipping again mid this year ,so sellers and buyers will be again affected.
At the end the same thing .cost living every year get far disparate versus salary and affordability ..
sorry x miss spelling ,i love phone text speech while doing else .

In addition to late and super-late mail, I’ve had a package that was to come to me in GA, end up in Montana. I had another one go back and forth from North Metro Atlanta Distro Center to Central Atl Distro 3 times before they figured out it needed to go elsewhere. That’s not a Covid related problem, that’s a competency problem. I recently had a package coming to me from just 50 miles away get lost for over 2 weeks, yet the guy I sent stuff to, at the very address, got my package to him the next day. The tracking stated it was ‘on the way to the next facility’ for 4 days. When I talked to a PO drone, she said, “Well, it shows it’s on the way to the next facility.” I pointed out that this update was 4 days old. I could have walked with the package from point of origin to my home in just that time alone. Coincidentally, I guess, it showed up at my local PO early the next morning and made it to me that day. Having said that, next time I’ll just drive to pick it up.
