Plastic Platoon The Islands New Series
As I mention Erwin found on Facebook a posting about Plastic Platoon’s future release “The Island”.Plastic Platoon gave the following information about this upcoming series.
Plastic Platoon The Islands New Series pose
Plastic Platoon is experimenting with 3D technology. The new project, tentatively titled “The Islands”, will be entirely in 3D. US Marines will be a worthy response to the Japanese infantry. At least 6 sets are planned, including heavy weapons and armored vehicles! Scale 1/32.
Marine figures
The Set has six poses.
1. Standing firing a Thompson Submachine Gun
2. Standing with a flame-thrower.
3. Charging with a bayonet rifle. The figure is shirtless.
Marine kneeling firing a BAR
4. Marine kneeling firing a BAR. He is the only figure without a base in the series.
5. Advancing with a bayonet shotgun. He is wearing a pack.
6. Standing with an automatic weapon. I can’t tell what type it is.
I must say once again Mikhail of Plastic Platoon has outdone himself with the detail. These figures will work well with the TSSD Marines. Plastic Platoon has already showcased their future release of Japanese Infantry.I can wait to see what is next from this company.
Bayonet shotgun
Here is a closeup of a bayonet shotgun. This type of figure has been missing from toy soldiers until recently. According to reports, General Patch used a shotgun on a charge at Guadacanal.
Mystery pose
Here is a closeup of the other figure I still can’t figure what type of weapon he is using. Do you know what the weapon is? No date has been given for the release of this set.
Also, Publius has reissued three of their World War Two sets.

I carried a Sevens Savage 12 G in Viet for some time,,

I can’t get a good look at the mystery weapon, but might it be a Reising submachine gun?

  3. Carl Castoro says:

Hi everyone. Yes George, it’s a Reising .45 cal subgun. Not so good. Scrapped as soon as practicable. These figures are really nice. Maybe in the coming sets there will be radioman, guys reloading weapons, hopefully medics, and casualties. Will go well with the Austins, CTS, TSSD and Marx 60mm. Any chance they will eventually do WW2 Army, in the brown uniforms? Around $25-30 a set I imagine. When they arrive, I’ll get a set. 2 figures per pose? Everyone stay well.

  4. Christian Aldo says:

Plastic Platoon is the first company in decades that has actually made me excited about US Marine and Japanese figure sets again!
