Pete Evans Surprise Box Odds Ends, I got a nice little package from my very good friend Peter Evans. Next, Rahway alerts me of an update from Jeff Imel on his Women Soldier Project. Third, one of the reasons I have not been posting is I am working on a collection I got recently. The collection is mostly ancient figures. The former owner painted many of the figures and did conversions. I will be showing items from this collection as I get it ready for Ebay.

Pete Evans Surprise Box Interesting items

Pete Evans Surprise Box Odds Ends — My very good friend Peter Evans sent me a nice little package of figures. The main item from the package was this conversion of a Union soldier with a flag. I believe Peter used a Charbens figure.

Pete Evans Surprise Box Hing Fat — Peter also sent some Hing Fat soldiers starting with seven World War Two Japanese. As you can see some of the figures are based on Airfix poses. Other figures such as a radio operator and soldier firing heavy machine gun are original poses.

Hing Fat British — The Hing Fat British is based on the Matchbox 8th army. There are subtle differences such as the British soldier who does not have a bayonet that the Matchbox figure. I will have to see if I have my Matchbox set to compare in a future post.

Star Wars — Peter also sent me some Star Wars figures. I am going to use Liam Neeson and Ewan McGregor figures as monks with long staffs in my medieval stories. Also in the group of figures is a Marvel Thor figure. Peter likely got these figures from the Toy Project.

BMC Update

figure Poses — Rahway alerted me to a new update from Jeff Imel of BMC Toys. Jeff told the sets are getting closer to shipping for those who back the set. The bucket version will now have a hundred figures. Check out the link I posted.

Finally One More Item

conversion — As I mentioned earlier I am working on a collection that I purchased. One of the interesting aspects is some of the conversions the previous owner did. He took the Marx gladiator squatting with sword and shield and turned him into a black slave with a leopard. The Marx herald, he changed the helmet.

The later are cruded than early and in less poses.there 15 poses as far i got in DGN early sets and the not AIRFIX copied poses are base or direct copies of ESCI HO sets poses .
Same goes by 8th army set that are base in matchbox poses but with few new poses not base in HO poses other brands.
