Gary got these Marx Cape Canaveral figures in a bag lot.  He is not familiar with the light blue color and the plastic is stiffer than the normal cream plastic. Gary was thinking these may be thoughts.  What are your thoughts?

Gary Dutko’s Cape Canaveral Question Flea Market Roaming

I finally got to my indoor flea market after it had been canceled several times. The market was half full but had nothing of interest. Checking some regular booths At this antique mall, I found a bag with a Marx Command tent with some soldiers for six dollars. I passed on it as only two of the army figures were Marx. The rest were Timmee.

Next, I checked out their bid board and saw several bags of Marx figures. Sadly most the bags had damaged figures.

On Sunday, I went to another flea market to pick up some held items. The market was only a third full. I looked around and found nothing so I left. this season is going to be a rough one.

A little more details on what I’m trying to have done. I’m looking to get some figures copied. I tried 3D scanning and it was absurdly expensive. Anyone I knew who does any casting, seems to have left resin for metals. I’ve made molds before, but I’m trying to have it done and waiting for me on the day, whenever it comes, that I get home.

I have bought some equipment to experiment with resin casting (pressure pot & resins, etc.) but have yet to start that project. The pressure pot was from Harbor Fright but recently they seemed to have discontinued stocking that item. I haven’t yet found a good source for pigments to colour the resin. I’ve made a number of silicone molds of the heads of various Marx figures, the castings to be used in various conversions. Too many other projects taking my time…

I’m going to end up doing it myself. Just how it goes. That means it’s a long way down the road.
