Marx did a series of six 54mm figures for the race track. This set was done for a slot car set. Looking at Kent Sprecher’s web site Kent notes that there are two versions soft plastic and hard plastic. I seem to remember that Gary Linden said that the hard plastic versions may have been cake decorations. I have gotten the soft plastic figures over the years, the first time was when I got the Slot car set as a child at Christmas ( I picked it out as Christmas present) . I do not remember if I had any of the hard plastic figures.
One other note, years ago I got from Michael Ellis reissues of the Race Track figures. He got them in red and yellow from somewhere in Africa.

Years ago I bought one of the race track figure sets from you. It was six figures in red. I have to keep them in a separate plastic bag because the dye in the figures tends to bleed off onto other figures. ( I have the same problem With some Airfix reissue Indians in red.)
Anyway, I did not get the standing figure on the left side of your photo, But I did get two different figures with the flag. One is identical with the figure in your picture, One is exactly the same except the flag is held higher up. Perhaps, as Kent says on his site, the hard plastic figures “are similar but slightly different than the soft plastic versions.” The guy with the higher flag may have been from the hard plastic mold. Curious huh.

I will have to look at the reissue Track Figures and check the difference. The mold was found by Mike Ellis in Africa.
