Part Three East Coast Ninjas
Our last items are from the tables of Paul Amody. Paul is an old friend who has been doing the shows with his wife selling connoisseur metal figures from Russia. One of the items head for sale was this Japanese house with ninja and samurai fight for $1099.00
Part Four East Coast Russian scenes
Paul had for sale individual figures to scenes like the ones you see here. You can see more of the items he sells at his web site handheld warriors.

People at the Show

Part Four East Coast Toy Soldier Show Baarry
Going to the shows, after a while just scoring items for either your collection or resale is not the fool picture. I find half the fun is seeing various people I have met over the years. Getting a chance to talk to them is just as important. Here is Barry Warren, who did the various civil war conversions we showcase earlier this year. We are hoping to see more from in the near future. Barry also helped me get some items out to the car, which I appreciated.
three collectors
Here we have Mark Harris, Art Rostel and Mike Chomko. Mike told the group about how he had gotten into a bidding war on Ebay with Carl Eber over a Mark McCain with a rifle. This figure had been on the Rifleman display board for the Rifleman playset. Marx changes the figure to be without the rifle for the actual playset to without the rifle. When Eber found out that it was Mike who had bid against him, he let him have the figure at what he paid for it. Art Also told us he was having health issues and was getting himself checked again.
leane and Paul
I saw some old friends I had not seen in a few years, Leanne and Paul. They had not been to a show in a few years due to a scheduling problem.
It was good to see these people. Laurie and I had a great time and will be back again.

Boy, we’re all gettin’ old, myself included – pushing 69 but still playing with toys and, as my late buddy Bill Hamilton used to tell me, still acting like I’m 8 years old!! Looks more and more like the hobby is an exclusive old guys (and gals) club….. Where has all the time gone since that first Marx Captain Gallant Playset in 1956??
