Part Three 2019 East Coast Toy Soldier Show, we finish our look at Carl Eber’s tables. then we go over to Francis Turner’s table and look at some unusual color variations.

I have two more photos from Eber’s tables. The first shows one of the Ideal Battle Action pieces the destroyed building with machine gun placements. In front of it are the tan Marx 54mm army and WWII British.
Blister card
The last item from Eber’s table is the Wild Animals blister card. These animals were used in the Boys Camp playset. In front of them are loose forest animals and blue and tan 60mm scout figures.

My next stop was to Francis Turner’s tables. He always has unique Marx items. Behind him are the Marx Nutty Generals with Louis Marxas a Mandarin minus his helmet.
Nutty generals
Here is a closeup of the Nutty generals with Louis Marx. Francis told me that they are going to have a Marx toy display in the Moundsville Prison which opens later this month. Francis was happy for this display to continue the tradition of the Marx Museum.
Disney cabin
One of the items on Francis’ tables was this prototype Disney cabin which was going to be in a playset but never made.
Marx 60mm figures
Some 60mm figures at the top of the case light blue Union. The lower half of the case is dark blue sailors.
Personality figures
In this case, we have a number of personality figures. What is interesting is the Marshall Zukov and Napoleon are factory painted. This is the first time I have seen this version.

Russian figures
One of the surprises at Francis’s tables were the unusual colors of the Marx 54mm Russians and British. These are not reissues. These figures were done just before the company was closed. The people were trying what could be produced and these were done in these colors, Sadly the company closed before we could have seen these figures. Each set of Brtish and Russians was available for $50.00
Arab tents
The tents were also done in several colors. I like the red. The Arab tents were available for $50.00 each.

Francis showed me some photos of interesting items he got items related to Louis Marx. He found the person who bought Louis Marx’s storage locker in the 1990s. One series of items were the passports of Louis Marx and his family. According to Francis, Louis Marx second wife’s half-sister Lili Saint Cyr, the famous burlesque stripper. Two other items he got were pens given that were used by Eisenhower is various surrenders in World War Two. Rusty Kern of Playset Magazine will have an article on these pens in a future Playset Magazine.
