2019 East Coast Toy Soldier Show, Laurie and I are back from the show. As always we have had a good time and I will give you my thoughts on the show.

2019 East Coast Toy Soldier Show Getting There

2019 East Coast Toy Gerry and Chris
We left the house around 7;30 AM. The ride getting to the show is not bad as it mostly highway all the way. We arrived two hours and headed in. Our first stop was to our very good friends Chris Lamont and Gerry Watts. Chris helps Gerry with his tables of plastic and metal. We were told the show started off slow due to Daylight Saving Time, but it picked up. Gerry had a wide range of plastic from loose figures to bag lots. I got a nice big bag of Marx farm pieces and Hong Kong Copy of the Elastolin Sir Gawain. Laurie decided to stay while I decided to roam.
2019 East Coast Toy the aisles
I noticed that the aisles were wider and a number of the regular dealers were missing. John Stengel JR had his table but had one a few items on the tables inside instead of the massive inventory. There were a number of new dealers offering plastic. I was able to get a few items from them including a cover for the Processed Plastic 2 1/2 truck.
Bob Hornung
One of my stops was Bob Hornung. Bob is a maker of metal figures, but we have an interesting history. One was he bought a large collection of plastic figures. I got from him my major want the Speedwell Armor car on fire. We also bought a smaller version of his toy soldier shop you see in the photo. I will have to tell those stories again.

Here is Bob’s metal garden pieces.
George Guerrio
Another stop was to say hello to George Guerriero of Minute Man Toy Soldiers. George sells plastic and metal figures.
George's display
George had some nice displays such as this World War Two scene which is made up of the various figures and buildings he sells.

  1. Hi Paul. I missed you at the show. We must have been like ships in the night. Actually there were about 200 people entering the show when the doors opened. I got there about 10 minutes before the show started. It looked pretty busy. Yes the isles where wider. I saw Laurie at Gerry’s table at one point. I came back there later to look for you but you had already left. I left after the show had finished around 3:30pm. I am still editing pictures and will have a post tomorrow night. I purchased a bunch of Atlantic figures at the show, some 60mm Marx Robin Hood figures and some of the John Jenkin Anglo Saxon figures. I don’t think I will make it to the York Show this year. Maybe next year. Take Care for now, Mike.

Sorry I missed you as I was looking for you as well. When I get to a show I am on the go looking for items and taking pictures. I got a pewter dinosaur for Laurie which Laurie has but she will keep and then she bought a different one. I have two parts up and will do more tomorrow. We were there only a few hours and left around 12:30.

Are you planning to have a convention this year

Richard, I don’t run the East Coast Show. It is run by the Lango family. We have no idea if they will be running the show again?
