Odds and Ends 1/2013

Frank on American Pickers has Crohn’s diease. The show producers  have gotten him a small camper  so he does not  have to worry about a bathroom when out on a pick. The article  from the National Enquirer mentioned that Frank is worth three million dollars and has a collection of 60 motorcycles.

I love people. I had someone during the holidays try see if I would take $10.25 for an item I had priced at $14.99. They added it would be a Christmas present for their father.  I replied immediately that I would not drop the price and it was too late for Christmas. I blocked the person as I have no use for low ballers or who try to play on your sympathy.  Then I had a guy who wanted high resolution pictures of some figures. He wanted to compare the paint to see if they would match his figures. I replied that my camera would not be able to do the resolution he wanted and passed.  I used to have to deal with these people at the human job and put up with it, not in this world.

We heard over the holidays from our very good friend Andreas Dittmann. Andreas told us that his son Alexander has graduated from the university and is going to be a physician.  It seems  like just yesterday we were looking at Alexander’s dinosaur collection. His other son Johanna and Alexander’s girlfriend  were very lucky. They were at the Bonn train station when a bomb was suppose to go off. Fortunately the police had thwarted the bomb plot so nothing happen. This incident was not reported here, I was aware of it.

So far nothing has been reported on new figures for 2013. Armies in Plastic has not said if they will be releasing new figures. They did not release any figures last year.  TSSD has not release their plans yet.

In future if you have an axe to grind on your figures keep it on your site. I have the highest regard for Andreas. Laurie and I have share several meals with him and his family in Germany. He has one of the largest collection of figures in world. He has written articles for both Plastic Warrior and Figuren. If his article annoyed you you should have sent a reply to Figuren. Also did you have the Robin Hood figures out when you were over at PW? I will be reviewing his article and your comments and make more comments tomorrow
