We start off with a table of plastic 70mm Elastolin figures Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018More Elastolin figures this time we have WWII German soldiers. The dealer had both band and military poses.Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018

Bags of plastic figures to go through. You could have hours of  fun going through the bags.Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018

Here is an interesting Fort Apache. The fort has some town buildings included in the fortifications. Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018This dealer had starlux figures for sale plus some Corgi vehicles.

Italian and English figures in his grouping plus Starlux.  Timpo and Crescent represent UK. More of the Italian rubber figures that we rarely see here. Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018Here we have boxes of figures.  I will have to find out from Detlef if these were spots outside the show or waiting to get in.  Either way look at all the Atlantic in boxes. Also on the ground is a possible Timpo counter box. Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018Another spot with loose figures. Laurie likes that wayof having the figures in trays. Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018More loose figures and a hard plastic castle. We will see if anyone can identified it.Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018

Could you have plastic figure overload on this table?  I got an overload like this at Plastic Warrior Show and very likely would have it here. Milan Toy Show Part Two September 2018Elastolin Castle dominates  this table. I noticed on the table some of  Atlantic Chinese Revolution figuresMilan Toy Show Part Two September 2018There are some interesting items on this table.  First there is Marx six inch Astronaut in silver.  Behind the Atlantic chariot is a vacuum form fortification by Atlantic.  These Atlantic pieces I know got into Canada. I do not know if they got into the states.

We will finish this up in part three and show what Detlef purchased.

Great photos! I would love to have the chance to get a lot of European figures. I particularly like the Italian rubber wild west figures. Great action poses and lots of color!

Does anyone know anything about the two large knights with swoppet heads near the middle in the last picture?

    • Detlef Heerbrand says:

hello Mark .. the two knights are from Nardi made in Italy .. unfortunately the helmets of the figures are missing .. greetings ..

      • Mark T. says:

Thank you Detlef! The faces did remind me of Nardi western figures I have seen online, but I did not know Nardi made any medieval figures. I’ll have to search for some pictures with helmets.

Truly great photos that illuminate the sheer excitement of being at a toy soldier show, and what’s available through dealers and collectors.

There is so much neat stuff, that my experience is that you have to firmly budget before you go how much you can spend. Otherwise, there’s just too much and it’s too easy to overspend.

Is this the first time for this Milan, Italy show, or has it been going on for several years, and we just haven’t had reports of it over here?

I’m looking forward to the photos of the things Detleff himself acquired.

    • Detlef Heerbrand says:

hello Don .. this event has been taking place 4 times a year for years .. in march, june, september and december .. it is well known in Italy .. greetings ..

Spain has also this type quarter monthly toy shows in Barcelona and other cities.
I see year reviews magazine of then and is amazing the huge amount tiy figures/makers/ playsetcastles Spain did.

The castle is former Ideal-EX Klee water?(i may be wrong spelling the UK maker) then sold by BROHOM-KOHO else in Germany and later reissued by TIMPO in 80s 90s .Because colors of plastic looks as German version issue made that often come with a hard to find conserved light plastic vacuum nice base not done in UK or IDEAL-US version .I manage got a German version in mid-2000 ship from Austria ,it arrive with very tall hill base but half way cracked and i sold it back in a bid not knowing will end in near 600s USD price after i bought it x only 40.00.
The German version had the rare 6 poses knights also attributed to Heirnele brand .
While Ideal come with former original 70 IDEAL knights. The UK early prototype come it with diverse early Hilco else/other brands knights then with many other as swappet Cherilea as well and even HK version swappet knights too i had seen listed in original box sold.

  5. OIF-Retread says:

the dealer with the Corgi vehicles also has a Britains kubelwagen, which works great with marx germans, and a Solido Patton tank which makes a good Lionel train flatcar load since it is close to 1/48th scale.

    • OIF-Retread says:

sorry, major brain freeze there. the Kubelwagen with the top is the Dinky version. the Britains is an open-top version with a driver and gunner figure.

Perfect ! When I can see Milan Fair shedule for next event ?

  7. TD Barnecut says:

I’ve never seen the marching Atlantic Nazis in the box on the far left in the last photo. Is anyone familiar with these figures?

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

I don’t know what marching figures you referring ,i may be lost in photos and not see it .

As far i see only marching German Wehrmacht WW2 soldiers i see are typical very common Elastolin Hausser- Preisser figures sold- made till late 80s and abundant .I have plenty then and common at US shows, ebay’s as well .
Only true Nazi and indeed only plastic SA(before SS) 1930s soldiers made marching in plastic were Atlantic Brand ” SA brown shirt” political set that is too abundant and imported to the US since late 70s least .Still common in ebay but because less amount sold exported and distributed is more pricey today ,special in box mint .That set with other 3 political se(Black shirt,Russian revolution and Chinese revolution 0 were only political sets made by Atlantic .CTS did sold exedendent overstock in large amount of these sets in 90s for modic price back then of 40-50 USD each in boxes
Atlantic was only plastic toy soldier maker to ever cover such thematic .
Because italian laws back then did not interfere with depiction of political nazi, fascist in toys or models it was easy x then to do it but difficult to sale in some countries such Germany ,austria, holland and others .
It did sold well in Spain,Portugal,Italy ,South america ,Canada.
Gulliver(From Brazil) did copied and made some Atlantic WW2 Wehrmacht with some varied poses, among it is one marching German Wehrmacht soldier and three other poses base in Atlantic but with different poses.
That is about all I can tell …

  8. OIF-Retread says:

Paul, i think he is referring to the L.100 set of “Hitler Camicie Brune-SS” in front of the medic set box. i assume those are some of the brown-shirt line. i think i also see two other “Camicie Brune-SS” sets behind that, one with Hitler’s face on it. they are to the left of the camouflaged CH-47 helicopter.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

The L 100 are belong to the minipack export series of Atlantic design.
The box has the wrong depiction of Gernan regular soldier marching and figures are as I mentioned before. Camicie Brune SA.No SS …
These minipack often lack all poses of original set.
Atlantic often miss label their set title in purpose.Specially x exports. Example japanese were label as Kampetai and german soldier set as WF SS or panzergrenadiers.
