“5. Crusader walking with sword in right hand shield on back”

    Not sword, but dagger.

Each figure have individual name, printed under his window. This figure called “Scout (Spy)”.

  2. Darren Hatley says:

Not bad looking figures but I will reserve judgement until I know more about there price and scale. I really like the Saracen figures who are in much more exciting Battle poses where as the Crusaders are much more reserved. I’m not buying figures that go over 60mm anymore and ive got a feeling these might just be a bit on the big side for me. I imagine they would be quite pricey but I will wait and see.

  3. ERWIN F SELL says:

The saracens looks in much better poses action;crusades/knights have many poses wasted-very poor x action ,still interesting new set ,once again from Russia.
The scale should be easy 65/70 mm as BUM(former PH mold saracens) and jecasan are that scale .Definitely not match for any 54 mm or even the close 60 mm .These figures are very tall and high thick bases help increase then more ,the detail and finish is not very neat .
.If price is not astronomical ridiculous I may get then .
    my thoughts.
    best

Thanks for the information, The price isn’t too bad but they are on the big side for me so I will pass on these. I know weve discussed this before but almost all my figures are 50mm to 60mm. I have a few taller figures but it seems alot of companys are bringing out figures of around 65mm and they just dont go with my smaller figures, I decided a little while ago that i’m not going to buy anymore tall figures no matter how great they look. On the bright side it will save me a few pounds, Nevermind.

    • ERWIN F SELL says:

The price is not bad at all.The shipping is ok.There others better offering shipping.Still every seller uses his best accordingly.
The scale Darren is definitely not yours. But x many as me will work aa we do other scales.

I just received a vintage Marx Gunsmoke Doc figure for $128.05 from eBay. Threw him in hot soapy water and he looks like he just came out of the original box. Wouldn’t trade him for a case of the new figures!! There is NOTHING like old Marx Ferriot Brothers sculptures. The true 54mm size, the details, the texture of the material, the rich colors… Anyone can afford the old figures; just quit buying bags and bags of the new junk. My opinion.

    • Don Perkins says:

I don’t know, Andy. I often agree with your observations, but this time I have two reservations:

      1. I’m not really sure I can afford $128.05 for a single figure, especially when I’ve got to get three more (all in the same price range) in order to complete the set —- Chester, Kitty, and then Matt Dillon;

      2. Much of the “new stuff” I don’t think can fairly be described as “junk”. Much of it — from ExForce, CTS, LOD, TSSD, Austin Miniatures, Conte, Paragon, and Barzso, along with ChinToys — is really of a very high quality, in my opinion.

As a matter of fact, I was getting ready to refer you to the ChinToys mounted Confederate General Staff (which includes Forrest, Jeb Stuart & Stonewall Jackson), which is now out from the Rebel Alpha ebay site, along with the complementary mounted Union General Staff (which includes Custer & Sherman).

But I can understand your enthusiastic exuberance in possibly completing your Marx Gunsmoke character figure set. Of course, now you’ve got to start on the Wagon Train character figure set, and then the Zorro character figure set. They were also all very well done, and taken together, a little on the expensive side, even if you’re not spending money on the new stuff!

      • Andy says:

DONALD!!!!! Et tu, Brute?!?! Seriously though. Just wanted Doc for my Allan Roberts Doc Adams Office, previously “staffed” by conversion doctors and now “official”. Maybe a Miss Kitty for under $150, but Matt and Festus don’t excite me. I have a Major Adams which is a great figure, but not compelled to find Flint McCullough, unless for $20 range. The only other character figures I would like are The Rifleman (not Mark or the oversized rifle) and Johnny Ringo.
I rushed to buy the Chintoys standing Generals and found them, disappointingly, a little too large for my taste for true 54mm. Some of the heads made great conversions; other figures are in my “junk” box. (I guess TSSD started the “bigger” 54mm figures? My ONLY criticism of their Wyatt Earp & outlaws figures are the closer to 60mm “neo 1/32” size.)
I can get a Johnny Ringo for less than 20 bags of these new 6 for $50 Russian figures which seem to be the new “trend”.
I paid for my daughter’s 2014 wedding, without borrowing money, by selling part of my vintage Marx collection that was less important than my kid. I doubt that bags of new figures, even Barzso, could have swung that.
I do apologize for the use of the insensitive”junk” term, but I have witnessed people spending a LOT of cash on newer figures, like when the CTS Arab copies first came out, that could have been used to acquire figures of more lasting value.
Just MY opinion(s), but I do enjoy the dialogue, especially from you, ol’ buddy. Hope all will continue to roll well for you out in the Midwest and would like to “hear” from you more often on the board, even if you don’t see it the right way, errrr, I mean my way. 🙂

      • Andy says:

I should also include, my current passion over the last few years, has been to find Timpo parts to repaint and restore into complete wagons and even scratch build wagons. I’m also enjoying converting a couple of bags of recast Marx miners I got from CTS @ 47 figures for $9.95 plus Shenandoah heads and other heads from eBay. I also bought some tiny brushes to paint in eyeballs, belt buckles, and other small parts under a lighted magnifying lens originally designed for embroiderers.
It takes a LOT of time & patience, but I’m pretty pleased with my progress.

      • Andy says:

FINAL (rhetorical) comment: would you rather have an original factory 1955 Ford Thunderbird or six new Hyundais?

  6. ERWIN F SELL says:

I like add ,it is very peculiar the typical classical Russian style packing giving to these set by maker.I think is a nice choice in my view .Wonder what else they will make?! .
I meaning giving by fact that since 2013 till now over 12 russian and /or east europea maker had surge and produce about 100 sets seem to me they will keep going.
While here using (Typical abroad producers ) barrey less 10 sets done by 2 to 3 makers .Not counting of course EXF that is entirely asian from owner, artist to makers .Still nothing to envy on then as great quality too.
    my thoughts.

  7. ERWIN F SELL says:

They just add two more poses ,one saracen and one tartar or mongol archer pose.
    http://biplant.ru/igrovye-nabory/srednevekovaja-seria-epoha-velikih-srazenii/luchniki
Now Biplant in the sets post here had not cloned or copied exact the Publius and EK models at all as they did with three WW2 russian soldiers.
The medieval set figures varied and and have some considerable changes such different banner ,helmets missing parts and else versus EK models.
Regardless. They are nice well done and very cheap versus PUBLIUS insane priced figures.
It looks to me Publius had gone envius on BIPLANT had mass produce figures base in Metal moldes while they do actually do exact same just in limited sets and expensive production.
i’m glad BIPLANT is offering these with less detail but fair and nice enough x a deal price .Hope release much more .
    my thoughts

  8. Darren Hatley says:

Very nice, I brought a set of the original Biplant Saracen figures from Russia recently and they are very nice, About 58mm tall and made of rubber rather than plastic. I will get a set of these archers when they become available on ebay.

  9. Darren Hatley says:

As Erwin says there is massive scope for more of these type of figures and i hope many more come out.
