The first four tables are related to Tom Wittlief of Munich. You can see he had a wide range of items including Spider man and Sar Wars items. The first photo confirms that the military person is figure some kind. Hope ful our German readers can add more.

Alfred Plath of Germany and John Begg of the UK.  Alfred  is known Timpo Artist . He wrote one of the fine books on Timpo. John is a dealer in plastic in UK.  According to Axel he showed possible the earliest plastic figure, a toy soldier made in 1902 in celluloid. John was there with his brother James and his wife  Eunice.

We went to a diner  the day before the show. There must have been 40 to 50 collectors and sellers that had their meal with Peter. Peter didn’t want anyone to give a speech on him and the 50 shows he did. So we saluted with our drinks and talked about everything. I was at a table with John, his brother James, his wife Eunice, the four Swedes and two collectors from Switzerland. We talked about current events. Also the laying ACW Timpo fakes and the 6000 Euros paid on ebay.

Business was not overwhelming but good. I found two unusual figures, a solids area Budica figure(Cherilea) and a sculptor by Café Storme. I sold two of the diorama buildings and three converted rafts, first a raft with indians, second with Union soldiers, third with WW2 British, otherwise standard figures. Dabro showed some new 3D-parts, e.g. an indian burial on trees and some Ku Klux Klan hoods.

Gee, those German and European collectors and dealers look just like the ones we have here in the U.S.!

    That Viking Fort is amazing.

And that collection of Timpo Arab riders on horses and camels is the biggest display of those figures in one spot I have ever seen anywhere, anyplace, at anytime. When that much color gets lined up all in a single display case, it makes a startling sight.

Yes it is a universal the way collectors look. The European collectors by and large are friendily. We have many good and enjoyable experience on our trips.

Lot of great looking stuff! The Viking Fort is beautiful ! Kudos to Axel !

  3. Jack Gibbons says:

I saw those hooded Timpo figures in the collection of photos. I don’t think they are Klan as they are European figures. It think they are Spanish or Italian caricatures that use the caripote, or pointed hat, during Catholic Holy Week ceremonies. In Godfather III they used the costumes to hide in the procession until they kill Joey Zasa.

      Jack Gibbons.
You are correct they are what is call Capirote .A simple clothing full cover hood used since late medieval time as part of Catholic ritual street ceremonies-procession by some .Today is more a tradition custom that else still used in some towns and festivities.Yet it was influenced copied by the KKK along with sambenito cover in Louisiana as was Catholic primary French colonies with those tradition .
Spaniards toy Brands had done then in plastic and astill sold there as souvenir .The name in Spain often varied by regions .While rest world are known as Capirote or santones.
Admi did post two figures in past he had about it.
