Cherilea Early Knights

This past weekend I was able to show to Laurie the hollowcast version of this figure Cherilea knight mount on a horse. The figure is a one piece molding and was sold in the 50’s.  I do not know know if Cherilea made new molds or used the original hollow cast molds. Several other companies used their hollowcast molds before switching over to new figures.

Here is another Cherileafigure: a knight lunging. Both of these figures were purchased in the United States. People from Europe are surprised what I find over here from their country.  I explain to them that toy soldiers were exported over here especially in the large cities. Back in the 50’s and 60’s it was a big deal for the department stores to send  toy buyers to Europe. Now the toy stores  and department stores are so the same it is disapointing.
